We're doing this publicly because we wish to make a point about the unacceptability of members registering multiple forum identities.

We will be removing zaphod's registration and merging his posts with posts made by jay_gee.

In anticipation of a 'forgotten password defence': We have a perfectly good password retrieval system and forum members also have the option of requesting a new password from the Administrators of this site in the event of forgetting. It is not necessary to re-register in the event of a forgotten password.

There is no good reason to register a second forum identity.

the password retrieval facility is no good if you don't know the email account you registered with, and, having tried all my commonly used addresses, I'm still confronted with ... "The e-mail address you supplied does not match the one listed for that username."

interesting, the question is:
Did the person who started with a new login of zaphod inform anyone on the site that they were the same person as jay_gee?

ie: regardless of the excuse that a password was forgotten, did the new Zaphod intend to let people know that they were previously jay_gee?

I mean if I lost my password and wanted to continue posting on the site it would seem logical that I would put up a post informing others that I am still jay_gee for example. ive seen people do this on trademe so that others will know who they are and friends can still keep in touch etc.

But it would seem in this case no attempt was made in any post i can see for jay_gee to inform others of his new login. So it would seem this person was prepared to take advantage of a clean slate as it were?! :)

actually from this comment of jay_gees:

... it is quite clear what the intention was, a fresh start with a new identity, could the lost password be just a excuse? I mean how long u been here, how likely is it that you suddenly forgot a long standing password and wouldnt you be automatically logged on anyway from your home computer as most of us probably are...

Not a huge deal.. but kinda dodgy anyways :] sneekybugger.com hehe

good point elevate, welcome back,

i was looking to ask similar questions, it sure doesn't look like jaygee/zaphod was or is looking for friendship in any way, in fact, judging from his form, he's actually fully unfriendly to everyone on this site except, of course, Hector/Ross, who is presently agonising over why he's so unpopular..........it makes my heart bleed,

i think these two persons , (who are four personas in a mystical proliferation) , have succeeded in sidetracking the purposes of genuine seekers of truth, on purpose, and for personal gain, and have tried to ridicule and trivialise the genuine efforts of people far better and wiser than themselves

Hector, at any rate, has been given enough slack to come up to speed on what we are all about, but seems to be struggling

jaygee/zaphod, you in my opinion are just a petty Judas, you are cordially invited to go away and stay away, your subterfuge was actually seen through from the beginning, and if i was your minder, i'd give you the sack

even as a louse, you're lousy
