Yup, good turnout and a very good night. No open mic unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances. The audience was young and old and all were wrapt.
Sometimes we get applause at the end of the films but tonight it was a stunned silence. Thats cool, I take that to mean people were really challlenged and thinking about what they just saw.
This film is particuarly hard hitting and we will screen it again.
Thanks to the "Cross" for the venue and gear and also for the promised support of better equipment and advertising of this project.
2008 will be the biggest year yet for this project.
The films we have lined up for this year will blow some minds and it is all exicitement right now amongst all involved in bringing this event to the people of Wellington.
Stay tuned for whats coming. Some big films and speakers will be coming out for this project this year and eveyone attending wont be dissapointed.
I wont say more right now, rest assured the 3rd year of these film nights will be the biggest yet. |

Good to see it went well and good on you for forging ahead in spite of the burglary. Taking a bottle of wine and a bottle of milk is probably a cover, given that they left the other laptop, but who knows. You mentioned in your e-mail the posters were taken down pretty quickly, so that's an indication something suspicious was afoot.
The fact that your film evenings have been a success has inspired me. I dropped a few films off at a couple of bars a few days ago and mentioned that the Southern Cross Bar had had successful film evenings that were good for pulling in extra customers on quiet nights. Fingers crossed.
Anyway, thanks for your efforts smashdacs. Keep up the good work! |
