Hundreds of people marched through central Auckland today in protest against the proposed Electoral Finance Bill.
The bill is designed to stop covert campaigns such as that waged at the last election by the Exclusive Brethren but it has been widely criticised for limiting freedom of speech.
Opponents says the proposed legislation will be in breach of the Bill of Rights Act.
And so they should!
We are under a firestorm bombardment of undemocratic, civil liberty destroying legislative moves by our own government right now.
