Yes its that time again... weve been covering health issues for a while now.
Some might be not so interested in health films but this one is a biggie, and health should be a top priority.
This one is worth seeing as it has a conspiracy angle and lots of dirty dealings from the drug companies, and politicians who got Aspartame approved. Its a must-see if you chew gum, drink coke zero or any diet drinks, take Berocca or other fizzy vitamins (many vitamins contain aspartame sweetner), in fact there are hundreds of products in nz supermarkets that have this brain poison in it.
This movie will change the way you see sugar free sweetners.
Check out the poster for just some of the side effects reported..including strokes and death!

Elevate,

There was a segment on the TVNZ Breakfast show on 3 August with a young woman from Wellington and US anti-aspartame campaigner Betty Martini. The young woman had been chewing gum with aspartame for quite a while and began to get sick. She was unable to isolate the cause of her problems which turned into depression and lack of energy among other things, visited several doctors, one who put her on Prozac until she found that the sugar free chewing gum could be the cause by reading on the Internet. I have found some articles as follows:

Quote:
New questions have been raised about the potential effects of artificial sweetener after a New Zealand woman fell ill, blaming her daily consumption of four packs of sugar-free chewing gum.

Abigail Cormack, 25, of Wellington, went to her doctor complaining of crippling muscle cramps, anxiety attacks, depression and skin rashes, and was forced to take sick leave.
Cormack's doctor Penny Rowley said it was a "strong possibility" her patient had been made ill by the artificial sweetener aspartame, which is used in NutraSweet and Equal, as well as thousands of other products.

Cormack's symptoms disappeared within 24 hours of her giving up the gum, which she had been chewing for a few years.
"She stopped having the gum and things resolved, so it looks like there was a cause and effect there," Rowley said.
Cormack admits her chewing gum consumption was "excessive", but says there were no warnings it could do her harm.

Quote:
Veteran US anti-aspartame campaigner Betty Martini claims to have seen people "cured" of multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and other chronic conditions, simply by stopping using artificial sweeteners.

This feisty redheaded Southern belle, in New Zealand this week preaching the anti-aspartame message, may bear a passing resemblance to recently-deceased American televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker - but she's not touting any "miracle cures".

Her mission is to rid the world of artificial sweeteners, which she claims are responsible for a host of deadly health problems.
She was "horrified" to walk into a Wellington grocery store and count the number of sugar-free products crowding the shelves.

"This stuff is a deadly poison."

"I've seen epileptics stop suffering seizures when they stop drinking diet sodas, and people with multiple sclerosis get out of their wheelchairs."

She is joined on her crusade by Wellington woman Abigail Cormack, who says her crippling muscle cramps, heart palpitations and anxiety attacks stopped as soon as she gave up her four-pack a day chewing-gum habit.

The previously fit and healthy 25-year-old e-mailed Mrs Martini in desperation about six months ago after reading about aspartame poisoning on the Internet.
