Why is this not a world news headline?
It has come to light this week that the most pre-eminent broadcasting company in the world has lost the original recordings of its output for the entire day on September 11th 2001, just over five years on, yet no major news agency has even bothered to report the fact.
Despite being currently the biggest story on the internet and in the alternative media, the only place in the mainstream the story has appeared is on a small German news website.
Some of you find it hard to believe we didn't keep the BBC World tapes... but we had several streams of news output running simultaneously on the day, both on radio and television as well as online and we have kept all the tapes from BBC News 24 and Radio Five Live, as well as all the BBC One bulletins. Obviously I wish we'd kept hold of the World tapes alongside all the others, but we didn't... and I don't know whether they were destroyed or mislaid. But as a result of this week's events, I have asked our archivists to get hold of copies of our original material from the organisations which do have them.
And just to be clear, the BBC policy is to keep every minute of news channel output for 90 days (in line with the Broadcasting Act in the UK). After that we are obliged to keep a representative sample - and we interpret that to mean roughly one third of all our output. We also keep a large amount of individual items (such as packaged reports or "rushes" - ie original unedited material), which we use for operational reasons - such as when we come to broadcast fresh stories on the subject. We do not lack a historical record of the event.

seems like a strange thing to say? if they didnt keep the tapes of the world report then surely they would know if they had been destroyed OR mislaid, as not keeping the world report tapes must have been a decision on someones part surely, i mean they have a archive system in place, and if they had been mislaid that would also be quite odd, and just on that particular day too? its all a bit convienient... and no definitive answer given.
Also if a company or orgainsation like the bbc is accused of hiding something or covering up something, and then say hypothetically they did cover something up, then going to that company and asking them what happened would likely result in some kind of wishy washy explanation like this one.. in other words, IF a company is quilty of hiding something the last place youd expect to hear the truth of the matter from is the company itself obviously...
so the fact that they came up with this fairly poor (on close inspection) explanation doesnt really prove they are not guilty of course does it...
Its like asking a suspect in a murder inquiry did u do it, and the guy then releases a statement saying "i had nothing to do with it", and then the media or judge isnt likely to go, "oh well he said he didnt do it, thats good enough for us", let him go scott free,
it seems Jay_gee that you think this excuse from the bbc somehow proves them not guilty ?
If anything id say the nature of the response puts even more doubt into what really happened with the material, after all they dont seem to know..
On such an important day in history like this the guy makes the silly excuse of hey we only keep like a 3rd of our stuff after 90 days..
Why even include such a statement in the response?unless u were trying to find excuses... when anyone with half a brain knows that sept 11 should without question be included in the 3rd of permanently kept reports, i mean its quite a silly response from the bbc if u ask me...
as he has "covered his bases" so to speak by giving a number of vague excuses and reasons, id say if someone mislaid tapes from the day of sept 11 or destroyed them theyd have to either be deliberately hiding something embarrasing to the bbc or was incredibly shortsighted and stupid, and it turns out that their was something embarrasing from that particular day and on the world report as weve seen on youtube thanks to others recording it.. coincidence? i think not
reminds me of the NASA story of them convienintly losing the origonal moon landing tapes just before a company was about to remaster and examine the tapes closely... they just dissapeared... convienient indeed...
Its like the security cameras in the tunnel that failed to work in france just for those few hours when lady diana died, and during the london bombings the cameras on the bus and the trains didnt work JUST for that day ! and all the dozens of cameras on sept 11 around the pentagon that have still not been released, gee how convenient.... see a pattern here anyone?
could all these things be connected to the same global group orchestrating a move to a one world govt and global survalence society?
gee i wonder....
