This You Tube broadcast below, has some intriguing information about people who have had heart transplants. Some people experience dramatic lifestyle changes after receiving another person’s heart. They are initially given no information about their donor and are encouraged not to ask or pursue the matter however, some people do and find that their new abilities, tastes and activities were enjoyed by the people whose heart they received.
It takes a long time for some to integrate this new personality and it is just as much an adjustment for those around them. One man who was unable to write very well and started early in life as a conman, started to write romantic poems to his wife. Another completing left his professional career and became almost totally focused on sporting activites. In both cases their donors did those things.
Research by some doctors has proven that there is a system of nerves in the heart that perform that same as the brain, and that many characteristics of the brain occur in the heart as well but with the addition of emotion. Also they have been able to measure a magnetic field from the heart form 6 feet away – more than any other part of the body.
These more to this pumping organ than you think. Worth a look:

Carl G.Jung, Robert Anton Wilson, Timothy Leary and probably others have all stated that the nervious system( or something like it) may operate independantly from the brain and this may account for our Dreams or experiences when clinically dead(brain dead) /Near death experiences or that perhaps that our DNA has something to do with it.
Anyway reading some of the books by the obove authors could provide some interesting reading for you.
