A leaked document suggests that in 2002, Britain set out to support a Bush administration plan for an illegal war in Iraq, discussing political strategy and how to justify such an attack in the minds of the public.

Meanwhile, during Tony Blair's fleeting visit to New Zealand, he and Helen Clark will look at 'swapping policy ideas' ("Miss Clark said the pair would develop "more systematic arrangements for exchanging information about policy development and exchanging officials from policy units".) #-o As they say, with friends like that... I would prefer that Mr Blair keeps his policies to himself at this time.

Blair hit by new leak of secret war plan
“If the political context were right, people would support regime change,” said Blair. He added that the key issues were “whether the military plan worked and whether we had the political strategy to give the military plan space to work”.

The political strategy proved to be arguing Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction (WMD) posed such a threat that military action had to be taken. However, at the July meeting Jack Straw, the foreign secretary, said the case for war was “thin” as “Saddam was not threatening his neighbours and his WMD capability was less than that of Libya, North Korea or Iran”.

Straw suggested they should “work up” an ultimatum about weapons inspectors that would “help with the legal justification”. Blair is recorded as saying that “it would make a big difference politically and legally if Saddam refused to allow in the UN inspectors”.

Face it...
They dont care what people think. It may make things easier if people think that Iraq is a breeder of the greater evil. but at the end of the day nothing will stop the powers that be from doing as they please.
As I remember there was a bigger fuss over the alleged "Suicide" of some scientist that wrote a letter that was edited in favour of the coalition's invasion than there was in the fact that Iraq was being invaded for no reason at all
(other than the money that US congressmen, bush, cheeney ect would make)
to me this is just ludacris how can millions of people fall for such crap
below is a link to some info you might already know

So If they had set out to create a plan of trickery for the general public, it failed.

(considering bush and blair had a second term in power on their minds)
What was Plan B for public support???
