Hi All, Back again.
I wrote a message and when I was trying to correct a word, lost it, so will try again.
Have been trying to get some action over the shooting of my animals, but the men in blue do not seem to be moving on this at all.
I see some new contributors since I last joined in ,and from the sounds of it, some are not convinced of the mystery in the skies.
Well, everybody out here is sneezing, caughing, yawning and generally lethargic .I am still battling the health problems that have plagued me since the first time the lines (to my knowledge) appeared out here in 2000 and many of my animals have shown similar symptoms, often proving fatal, I have sent many animals for autopsy, but the results have been inconclusive.
For those who doubt there is something happening in our skies......Hellooo!!
Hugs Betty
Good to hear from you again and to get an update on the shooting incident. How frustrating not being able to get any action on that or any results from the testing on your animals :(
Hi Carus
It sure has been frustrating alright, however I am still pushing for the police to press charges
Plenty of action out here in the sky almost daily
Everyone is coughing and spluttering and losing their voices, etc. I have never seen so many people yawning all the time and complaining of a runny nose and itching eyes.
Wish there was something we could do.People just don't want to consider that there is a problem.
Cheers
Betty
Yes, the police have known for weeks who did it. By a sheer fluke, a friend saw the boat on a trailer at the Shell station in Picton and got the registration number which the police traced to Rangiora. When confronted, the boat owner admitted to the shootings. Also implicated was another man from Takaka.
The chap in Rangiora who is the owner of the boat, claims the Takaka fellow did the shooting. I think they are brothers-in-law.
You don't usually take a rifle when you go on a fishing trip, now do you????
All relevant info has been sent to the Rangiora and Picton police and they have sent it to Takaka police, but this is where it seems to have stopped.
15 of my goats are missing and we have only found 8.
We have been trying to impress upon the police, the very real danger this sort of activity can be to those of us living out here, apart from the cruelty and the fact that these animals were on private property when shot. Also it was very close to my home.
I often have visitors here to see the animals and many of them are school children who could have been walking on the track and not have been seen.
I could have been out there myself, but none of this seems to matter.
We have had this sort of incident out here many times over the years and others have experienced it as well.....they aren't just picking on me
We are trying as a community to get some action.
I was once told by the police that if I choose to live in a remote area, then I will just have to put up with it!!My friend across the sound was mustering sheep when shots rang out and he and his children, who were helping, had to dive behind rocks when some cowboys in a boat started shooting at some goats they had disturbed when they passed through with the sheep. My friend got the name of the boat, which at the time belonged to a chap that owned a hotel in Picton. The hotel owner, when rung by my friend, replied, he had to have something for his patrons to do!!
It gets pretty wild out here at times and we are getting fed up with the lack of protection.
It turns out it is not illegal to shoot from a boat, which is a law that needs changing.
Hugs Betty
Yes I agree that that is a law which needs changing. Although we are getting too many laws and petty restrictions, this is one issue whch needs legislation
It is ridiculous, let alone quite dangerous, that people on a boat are allowed to shoot at, or take pot shots at anything on land, especially when there is no clear vision of what is in the vicinity :!:
I wish you well with further police action.
