:) Hi there -- Another beautiful Nelson day except for residual murk from sprays. I was horrified with the chem activity in the sky last Saturday - thick chem trails which ended up leaving white murky cloud layers over the hills at the back of my house - they seem to be prolifically spraying over the weekends and have noticed night spraying as well as I drive a lot at night. I have been very ill with chronic fatigue type symptoms since the year 2000 and this week have been more unwell than usual - don't know if my delecterious state due to Saturday sprays or just the body having major hiccup - thankfully I passed through that particular hellish bout unscathed - felt like death with aches and pains, shocking tiredness etc. I have an awesome view of city and sea and hills so will keep u posted on my skywatching observations -

We are very interested to see some regular reports from Nelson, especially any really strange stuff. For example have you or anyone you know seen the Grey Beam (AKA Black Beam or Grey Line, Black Line etc)? Here's a forum post with some pics taken not far from you:
The associated health issues are also very interesting to us, how widespread the symptoms are, what people are saying about them, comments from health professionals, any cycles of intensity that can be seen to be associated with heavy Persistent Contrail activity etc etc...
You are indeed fortunate to live where you have such a view over the city, sea and hills, it certainly makes for convenient and frequent observation. :-)
Between the years 1999 to 2003 Mel and I lived in a home with a very wide view over Auckland. You can see it here:
395kb image, opens in new window - Internet Explorer users, remember to click on the enlarge icon in the bottom right of the pic (expand to original size) and scroll in order to display it at it's full glory.
The irony is that in about three and a half years we did not see one Persistent Contrail, not one. And it wasn't for lack of looking, we spent a lot of time looking at the sky, day and night. We work from home and the view from the office was much as you see it in the pic, plus the view from the bedroom was much the same - no curtains or drapes, not needed. Yes, not one PT. Since we have moved to our current home, which has not much of a long view as it is surrounded by large mature Kauri, Rimu etc, we have seen many PTs - strange...
BTW, for anyone interested in the weather and sky conditions over Nelson, there's a good little automatic weather station for Nelson City updated every 10 minutes which includes a webcam image. Example below:
I've discovered that the image above updates automatically as the site webcam pic updates - how neat is that? The image seems to update about every 5 minutes ir so, to update the displayed image, refresh this page. The only downside is that if you read this post at night there will be a rather dark image displayed. :( :?
