I have found the following web site forum released by the Meteorological Society of NZ for discussion on NZ weather and climate just a few months ago:

Could be some interesting discussion there or a place to ask questions of people who work in the meteorological field.

Hmmm. Don't know about this one. Doesn't look like anyone is moderating it at least. Looks like it's been highjacked by spammers promoting Rolex, Viagra, casinos and porn....
