To many in the 'UFO community', the terms UAP and UFO encompass not only Unexplained Aerial Phenomena or Unidentified Flying Objects (perfectly objective terms), but ETs, Aliens and channelled 'beings'. Many of them also naturally assume that everyone else regards the subject in the same way. We tend to favour the term UAP, as UFO has become firmly embedded alongside alien religion and UFO fanaticism. Nevertheless, we do not feel that the subject is any less worthy of investigation or interest.
Mysterious New Zealand hosts discussions forums on the subject for several reasons:
1.) Because NZ has a history of some very credible and very unusual sightings of phenomena that do not satisfactorily fit with proposed explanations - and we find this very interesting.
2.) We (and many of our contributors) constantly turn up such phenomena in photographs, often, but not exclusively, connected with documentation of the chemtrail phenomena.
3.) UFOs and UAPs are genuine mysteries.
We do not feel that a sighting of a UFO is evidence of an alien flight crew. Many of these sightings might in fact, be of unknown or secret military craft. Or - they could be controlled or 'manned' by beings or entities outside of our current understanding. They could even 'be' lifeforms in themselves. The question is very much open.
It must be acknowledged that there is a strong UFO religion out there. It is maintained and promulgated by individuals, who in their own minds, are just as certain of the existence of extraterrestrials, as skeptics are that they do not exist. Embodied in this 'religion' is also the certainty that extraterrestrials are communicating with us through 'channels' and passing on messages of love and peace to the world - trying to dissuade us from our war-like ways and preaching a vision of harmony and mutual acceptance. :grey:
Mysterious NZ does not begrudge individuals of their opinions, or, if they must, their beliefs. However, it is not the accepted truth of this site to regard UFOs and aliens, ETs or EBEs as one and the same subject, nor do we necessarily regard them as inextricably linked.
