THE CHERNOBYL DISASTER

On April 26, 1986 at 1:23 am technicians at the Chernobyl Power Plant in the Ukraine (former Soviet Union) allowed the power in the fourth reactor to fall to low levels as part of a controlled experiment which went wrong. The reactor overheated causing a meltdown of the core. Two explosions blew the top off the reactor building releasing clouds of deadly radioactive material in the atmosphere for over 10 days. The people of Chernobyl were exposed to radioactivity 100 times greater than the Hiroshima bomb. The people of the world and Northern Europe were greeted with clouds of radioactive material being blown northward through the sky. Seventy percent of the radiation is estimated to have fallen on Belarus and 10 years later babies are sill being born with no arms, no eyes, or only stumps for limbs. It is estimated that over 15 million people have been victimized by the disaster in some way and that it will cost over 60 Billion dollars to make these people healthy. More than 600,000 people were involved with the cleanup many whom are now dead or sick. The Chernobyl Plant is made up of 4 graphite reactors; Number 4 exploded in 1986, Number 2 was shut down from a fire in 1991. In December 1996 the Ukrainian Government announced it plans to reopen Number 2.

On ANZAC day please spare a thought for all those who gave their lives during the wars. Also for those many millions of people killed, dying, sick and whom had their lives changed forever by this disaster, forced from their homes and lands now an irradiated toxic wasteland forever.

Our thoughts are with you.

Chernobyl Poems by Liubov Sirota:

http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/chernobyl_poems/chernobyl_poems.html

TO PRIPYAT

1.
We can neither expiate nor rectify
the mistakes and misery of that April.
The bowed shoulders of a conscience awakened
must bear the burden of torment for life.
It's impossible, believe me,
to overpower
or overhaul
our pain for the lost home.
Pain will endure in the beating hearts
stamped by the memory of fear.
There,
surrounded by prickly bitterness,
our puzzled town asks:
since it loves us
and forgives everything,
why was it abandoned forever?

2.
At night, of course, our town
though emptied forever, comes to life.
There, our dreams wander like clouds,
illuminate windows with moonlight.

There trees live by unwavering memories,
remember the touch of hands.
How bitter for them to know
there will be no one for their shade
to protect from the scorching heat!
At night their branches quietly rock
our inflamed dreams.
Stars thrust down
onto the pavement,
to stand guard until morning . . .
But the hour will pass . . .
Abandoned by dreams,
the orphaned houses
whose windows
have gone insane
will freeze and bid us farewell! . . .

3.
We've stood over our ashes;
now what do we take on our long journey?
The secret fear that wherever we go
we are superfluous?
The sense of loss
that revealed the essence
of a strange and sudden kinlessness,
showed that our calamity is not
shared by those who might, one day,
themselves face annihilation?
. . . We are doomed to be left behind by the flock
in the harshest of winters . . .
You, fly away!
But when you fly off
don't forget us, grounded in the field!
And no matter to what joyful faraway lands
your happy wings bear you,
may our charred wings
protect you from carelessness.

Translated from the Russian by Leonid Levin and Elisavietta Ritchie

This from the Herald web site this morning:

Nuclear leak enough to make 20 bombs

LONDON - A leak of highly radioactive nuclear fuel dissolved in enough concentrated nitric acid to half-fill an Olympic-size swimming pool has forced the closure of a controversial British reprocessing plant.

The highly dangerous mixture, containing about 20 tonnes of uranium and plutonium fuel, leaked through a fractured pipe into a stainless steel chamber which is so radioactive that it is impossible to enter, the Guardian newspaper reported...

Quote:
The newspaper calculated that 200kg of plutonium in the leaked solution was enough to make 20 nuclear weapons... Repairing the pipes and recovering the spilled liquids are expected to take months and may need special robots, which will have to be built, the Times reported...The British Nuclear Group, which runs the plant, said the leak posed no danger to the public, environment or staff at the Sellafields facility.

Phew - so everything's OK then?! :|

Britain is struggling to cut greenhouse gas emissions despite increasing wind farm construction...

They should try cutting back on the chemtrail activity, which, due to the spread of the resulting cirrus cloud, can actually help to trap heat beneath the cloud cover and could possibly be a contributor to global warming.

And from Teletext this morning:

Quote:
New Zealand told to consider Nuclear Power

A visiting speaker from the International Atomic Energy Agency predicts nuclear power will make a comeback as the preferred energy provider for many countries.

Dr Hans-Holger Rogner is a section head at the Agency in Austria and is in this country to discuss nuclear energy and its relevance to NZ.

He thinks New Zealand should consider the benefits of nuclear energy in the future because it emits hardly any greenhouse gases.

Flashback:
In early 2004, Don Brash promised a senior US Congressional delegation that New Zealand's nuclear ban would be 'gone by lunchtime'. (Apparently now, National is committing to retaining it.)

You'd think the b.......s would see the destructive risks of this energy.

They can keep it as far away as possible from here thanks.

Hi Carus & Melody,

In the same Herald article:

Quote:
British Nuclear Group managing director Barry Snelson ordered the plant to be closed. "Let me reassure people that the plant is in a safe and stable state," he said.

Oh yes we unquestioningly believe you Barry!!!!

The company has set up a board of inquiry to find out how the leak happened.

Lets not rush into it, hell why not set up several committees.................after all we've got 4,500,000,000 years to think about it.

Actually, your 4.5 Billion year deadline is not quite so pressing...

The Half-Life of Uranium 238 is 4,500,000,000 years, meaning that after that time, HALF of any sample will have decayed to Thorium 234 - the other half still remains! After another 4.5 billion years, half of that remaining will have decayed and so on...

Or maybe the comittee deadline is more pressing. They say in the article that the leak was Plutonium too.

Pu 239 has a half-life of only around 24,000 years!

Hi all,

Apropos to the spirit of this thread, here's an interview with Amy Worthington, one of the world’s top activist journalists, on the US use of nuclear weapons in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Here's the beginning of the interview:

Quote:
An Interview with Amy Worthington

The American Activist
The Idaho Observer
May 15, 2005

On Thursday, April 7, 2005, Ingri Cassel interviewed independent researcher/writer Amy Worthington on The American Activist. Worthington's articles on chemtrails, vaccines, cell phones and depleted uranium munitions first appear in The IO and then go all over the world. The following interview is a discussion of what Worthington believes is the most horrible legacy our generation will be leaving for the next generations: A DU-contaminated world.

Ingri: HI, AMY, WELCOME TO THE SHOW AND THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE TO TALK ABOUT THE U.S. LEGACY OF DEPLETED URANIUM MUNITIONS.

Amy: It's really RADIOACTIVE WAR, Ingri. It's one of the most important topics of our day. Radioactive war has been raging since Bush-Cheney started bombing Afghanistan in 2001. And yet most Americans still don't understand that in THEIR name, and with THEIR money, this administration, the U.S. Congress and the Pentagon have committed nuclear war against both Iraq and Afghanistan, two non-nuclear countries whose citizens had nothing whatsoever to do with 9/1l.

Ingri: IF YOU TELL PEOPLE THAT THE U.S. AND THEIR BRITISH PARTNERS ARE USING NUCLEAR WEAPONS IN THE MIDDLE EAST, MOST ARE SHOCKED BECAUSE THE NIGHTLY NEWS HAS AVOIDED ALL MENTION OF NUCLEAR WEAPONRY.

Amy: That's right. But tens of thousands of civilians and non-combatants in Afghanistan and Iraq have been killed with these horrendous, radioactive weapons. The U.S. military is using two kinds of uranium weapons--non-depleted and depleted--against these poor people and in the process we are nuking our own troops.

Ingri: WHY DO YOU CALL THESE WEAPONS NUCLEAR WEAPONS?

Amy: Experts says that any weapon which incorporates radioactive material can be considered a nuclear weapon under international law. Uranium weapons we are using in the Middle East are nuclear weapons because:

*they result in the same kinds of injury and death as the old type nuclear bombs that Truman dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during WWII.

*Both kinds of weapons release deadly alpha, beta and gamma radiation.

* Both the old and the new uranium weapons derive energy from the nucleus of the atom, thus the term "nuke."

John
I just read that whole article and it is horrifying.
Many of the symptoms described fit my problems.
This is a very dynamic interview and everyone should read it, but what can we do?
Do you think there is any link with CTs?

It may well be that the symptoms Amy Worthington describes are similar to those described by those in Chemtrail zones. Similar organs and functions within the body are probably affected in both cases. In the case of radiation poisoning, it would seem that the symptoms are much more sudden in onset, dramatic in effect with a dire prognosis. The sudden symptoms you and some of your animals experienced (in 2002, I think) was due to the low-level spraying of 'brown goo' on your property and would seem to be a different issue to the Chemtrail one. Overseas analysis of this substance has shown it to contain;

Quote:
...a biochemical-warfare soup of toxins, pathogens, fungi, moulds, and genetically-engineered organisms such as Mycoplasma fermentens incognitus and Pseudomonas flourescens. Some of these organisms have been linked to the 'Gulf War Syndrome.' Most are extremely antibiotic
resistant...

Nothing directly regarding DU munitions and the effects of them. However we can take responsibility for informing ourselves and those around us who will listen. Research and get our facts right. We can use this forum to bring this stuff to light and share the knowledge with other New Zealanders. Promote Mysterious New Zealand and do what we can to attract people to it - most of this will occur when the site is more substantial than it is at present, of course...

New Zealanders need to wake up and realise that our government and those in power and authority cannot be relied on to look after our best interests, they cannot be trusted. It is unthinkable that they are not aware of the Chemtrail activities over this country and the health effects on the populace. They are conspiring with those responsible for it...

Yes. Everything is connected...

Major UN report counts human cost of Chernobyl

The huge cloud of radiation that spewed from the broken reactor at
Chernobyl in 1986 will kill 4000 people, says the most authoritative
report yet on the nuclear disaster.

And the radiation has already caused 4000 thyroid cancers amongst
young people, contaminated more than 200,000 square kilometres of
Europe, and triggered widespread mental health problems amongst the
populations of the worst-hit countries.

TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF CHERNOBYL

Chernobyl, Least We Forget
26th April 1986 – 26th April 2006

A tribute to the many hundreds of thousands of people affected, displaced from there homes and still suffering the effects of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster today.

To the firemen, soldiers, police, miners and ordinary Russian people who gave selflessly and heroically of themselves to prevent a further cataclysmic disaster befalling the world.

God bless you.

The true effects of the Chernobyl disaster are yet to be realized.

**ABOUT THIS IMAGE**

The stone trumpeting Angel, in biblical terms heralds the arrival of God and represents Gods wrath at man meddling with nature. The Stone angel also represents the US$18 billion stone/concrete and lead sarcophagus now covering the reactor. The sarcophagus is now leaking badly and require billions of $ to rectify.

The bright light behind the angel represents the explosion and huge radioactive plume which released many tons of strontium, caesium-134, 137 and iodine-131 into the atmosphere.

The blue river represents the Pripyat River which runs through the 30 mile exclusion zone and continues to carry radionuclides downstream. It also represents the water drained from beneath the reactor by the firemen which prevented a further cataclysmic nuclear explosion.

The building in the BG represents the dead city of Pripyat, Ukraine where 45,000 people were evacuated never to return.

The crosses are representational of those who died, are dying and yet to die from the effects of this disaster.

The green grass is just that, although trees, grass and foliage continue to grow there, it is still contaminated and will be for thousands of years.

The blurred effect represents the passing of time and how easily we forget.

"The Chernobyl catastrophe should never be wiped from human memory."

Here is an interesting pictorial article written by a Russian woman named Elena who road through the Chernobyl "exclusion zone" on her Kawasaki 1100cc m/c. There are 27 pages of photos so give yourself 15 minutes or so. I found the Kindergarten photos, Chapter 25, 26 & 27 quite haunting.
