hi folks,
well i'm back from a beautiful 7 day holiday in queensland...
first of all.. no chemtrails! not a single chemtrail did i spot anywhere!
we flew out of christchurch.. there were a few east/west trails being laid as we took off.. great opportunity to have a close-up look!! well, as we approached the alps, the sky was very occluded in haze.. in fact the alps all the way to the west coast and out some fifteen minutes after that (maybe 200 kms?) a brownish/yellow haze covered the land. i expected this over canterbury (smoke) but not over the alps and coast..
what makes this interesting, is that while we were in queenslan..d a cold front marched across from the west.. up new south wales and it's northern tip brushed maybe up to rockhampton. in new zealand, according to observers in this forum, chemtrails laid in a frenzy.. (this same "front" is what was approaching the west coast of the north island.. when all these reports came in (auckland suburbs, wanganui, etc.))
so, brisbane has population of 2 million, an international airport.. sunshine coast had commercial airport with big 757/767 craft. cairns to the north, sydney some 1100 kms to the south, yet not one "persistent contrail" from jet aircraft.. yet in new zealand, with a population only twice that of just brisbane, there are dozens of these "persistent contrails" almost on a daily basis..
we traveled extensively from brisbane in the south, noosa heads (based) and up through gympie and tin can bay in the north. not one chemtrail folks.. and i had a good look.. just beautiful blue skies, some puffy cumulus clouds and 20-24C temps. how are the immigration laws for nz residents and us citizens? :)
so, this obviously begs the question... .why just new zealand! what is the scoop folks?
No chemtrails here for at least a week. I also had a short holiday and went north to Taupo and across to Napier. No sign of CT's in those regions at all. Was clear weather mostly.
Sounds like you had a great holiday after all despite your expectations :P
Does seem a bit strange not to see any chemtrails but it may not be a strategic area. I've seen more information on chemtrails over Sydney than Brisbane but there certainly isn't a site like this that I can find that has the quantity of photos showing many areas of NZ being sprayed.
Just an aside - I've been seeing more trails on TV over the last week, particularly in programs from the UK.

yesterday was a "dying southerly" beautiful in canterbury.. no chemtrails.
today, approaching warm front and first trail over lyttelton harbour/sumner area.. looks like laid before 8am.. spread out to huge billowing altocumulus mass. it is extremely reflective..almost fluorescent white.. more so than surrounding natural cloud. it is a start and stop over the banks peninsula.. nothing continuing past the bay and one of the "widest" plumes i've seen. couldn't get a good shot of it as the coastal clouds rolled in very quicly obscuring the view.
