I was driving through Greenlane, Auckland today at 2.25pm and observed a trail up high in front of me. It was just being formed and appeared to be going in the direction of the airport away from me. It was persistent and began to curve a bit at the end - I guess with the wind. There were many clouds and a lost sight of it amongst the clouds five minutes or so after.
The last trail I saw in March was huge and spanned the sky as I watched it being formed. This one today was more of a short burst. I don't think it was about to land at the airport, it appeared too high...

We saw this one from our place. It appeared to be flying in a corridor I've seen them on before. Today's looked like a persistent contrail. The last ones I saw in this spot some time back, were all tiny dissipating trails...
