folks,
hadleigh had reported in the other forum that saturday was heavy ct day up in manawatu.. well, we can now concur that all of new zealand (north to south) gets sprayed at the same time.
on saturday morning.. 10:30 am..beautiful.. sunny, with a few coastal low clouds blowing over.. my wife calls me.. "they're chemtrailing out there!" i looked up.. and sure enough.. a spray plane coming from north to south.. pouring a strange looking trail.. thin, very dense and appeared blue-green ish out of the back.. the trail appeared to dissipate slightly..just thin wavy lines.. i went out to mow the lawn and another plane is flying from south to north.. by this time the first line is huge.. big puffy altocirrus complex... just ugly..and spreading.. within two hours, i counted 4 or 5 parallel lines.. all north to south.. with huge, thick plumes.. by evening, we had totally overcast skies.. with appearance of some of those "square" clouds often alluded to. this was the heaviest chemtrail activity i've ever seen.
on sunday.. the weather turned norwest.. and only one trail. strange one.. looked like a rocket launch.

Great great photo. There is no doubt that this is not a standard domestic or commercial international flight. And, if it is military, where is it going to, or coming from?

This type of trail really stand out because of the similarity to a rocket trail (an oft heard description), just like a shuttle launch. These trails are usually described as ‘like a missile’ and ‘from horizon to horizon’…

the christchurch airport is about 25 km to the west of this chemtrail. we see a large number of chemtrails being laid... north to south.. over lyttelton harbour.. out over south brighton.. straight toward the kaikoura coast. would presume these to be flights north from dunedin vectoring toward blenheim/marlborough and west of wellington (kapiti coast).
the other common trails we see are dashed lines over northern canterbury.. some of these take on a surreal missile trail appearance.. very much like this photo (below) on weather wars:
i would guess these would be over cheviot/parnassus.. and parallel to coast up toward kaikoura
proceeding a storm system approaching from the tasman.. creating the famous canterbury norwest.. it is common to see many trails being laid parallel to the southern alps with intersecting trails going from west to east.. over arthur's pass area.
That second photo was an amazing shot. looked like the letter "F" being formed. Have not seen those that curve as depicted in the pic....or is it an illusion?
I have seen the same display of colours out here.
Had a moment's sunshine, weak and little warmth in it, This was yesterday about lunchtime. Today, we are back to cold and overcast. This has been going on for weeks.
