We have been informed by one of our site contributors that this afternoon National Radio reported a new sighting of a Puma (within the last few days) crossing the Rangitata River in the Canterbury region of the South Island. On the map, the Rangitata River is relatively close to the area where Mark Brosnahan saw and photographed a big black cat just weeks ago...

We will post more, when we have more information...

The Ashburton Guardian picks up on the latest Big Cat sighting:
