Hello everybody
Just trying out Melody's instructions to see if I can make contact. I am so anxious to talk to you all, but am a bit hopeless with the new technology stuff, but willing to learn and Melody and John are ever so patient.
Lots of CT action here almost all of the time. Have taken pictures which I will try to send. I did manage to get one off to Melody, but now exactly sure what I did, which is not exactly helpful, so will try again.
I have been noticing CTs since around 2000. I have kept some records and taken many pictures.
Hope I've done this right :?:

Hello Betty,
Nice to here from you..........and yes this modern technology can be quite daunting at times, stick with it and it will all fall into place eventually.
Looking forward to seeing some more of your CT images.
All the best.

Thanks Azimuth
I would like to see them too and will try to do some this afternoon.
Like I said, I am not sure how I managed it the last time, so will be just trying it out again. No doubt I will get the hang of it...at least I can talk to you all now, although I still get a bit lost.
Maybe I should tell you that I am nearly 74...maybe that explains a bit of my inability to catch on quickly, however, I am stubborn, so will keep trying.
Am trying to read everything you all have contributed and view pictures. They all just look the same time after time. I have a sky full today.

Good on you Betty, you'll get the hang of it after a few posts and I'm sure John, Melody and other forum members will help if needed.
Kindest Regards

Hi Betty,
Great to see you here. John and Mel have spoken of the excellent time they spent with you recently and I am looking forward to learning more of your experiences over the years with CTs and everything in your area, first hand from your posts. |

Hi Betty,
Good to see you made it online :D
I'm half way through your book Arapawa - Once Upon an Island and have really been enjoying it. You had some very amusing experiences (albeit at times difficult) at the beginning of your time in New Zealand.
Looking forward to hearing what's been happening to you there since your challenges with the goats.
Best regards, |

Hi Betty,
Glad to see you've made contact with us. :-)
I've just recently read your book of your life on Arapawa - most daunting at times but your tremendous determination carried you through. I'd love to read a follow-up. :!: :!:
We heard from John and Mel some of your experiences and no doubt will learn more as you continue to make your postings.
Regards
Joan |

Hi all and many thanks for the warm welcome.
As some of you have read my book, you will know a bit about me and my long involvement with the wildlife of Arapawa Island.
The whole saga has spanned more than 3 decades and goes on today.
Sadly, Walter, my partner in the incredible journey, left this mortal world just over 2 years ago and my life has changed once again.
The Arapawa wildlife is now recognised as endangered and many of the goats have gone overseas to loving homes and the Arapawa Goat Breeders Association has been formed in the states.
So besides chasing CTs, I still have a big family of animals that I share the Arapawa Wildlife Sanctuary with.
I also have a big human family and soon will welcome my 14th GREAT grandchild into the family.
Now, for those who have offered help...I have a problem..
When I want to answer, such as this offering, and the form comes up...it says "Subject"
Well, I cannot always remember just what forum I have been reading and get lost...does this make sense to you....I have been writing it down so I know where to direct the answer, but I am sure there is an easier way that I .have not discovered.
Like yesterday I was reading from several forum topics and had to look it up each time I started an answer...it probably sounds a bit ditsy, but if you can give me some idea of what I am doing wrong, I would be grateful.
Thanks again for the messages of welcome

Hi Betty,
You don't necessarily have to put anything in the subject line as the reply appears in the thread you are looking at anyway.
I only use the subject line when posting a new subject in a category.

Yep, Carus is right. You need only enter a subject when you are creating a new topic for discussion and the subject is simply to describe the general nature of what you are including in your discussion.
Once you are in a certain forum area, New Zealand Politics for example, and you click on New Topic, whatever you then post will appear with the NZ Politics discussion area. The subject just allows you to give what you are posting a meaningful heading so that when it appears in the list, people can find things a bit easier.
One way to check is when replying, look just above the top of the reply form, above where it says Post Reply. You'll see the navigation trail, something like this:
Go to: Forum Home > General Discussion - Chemtrails
This tells you that you are in the General Discussion - Chemtrails area
Generally, when replying to an existing posting, most people don't bother to fill in the subject line. Does this make sense? |

Hi Betty
Welcome to the forum
Just a note when posting to consider as well
Since you are using dial up things will happen slowly
When ever I post a response and then click on submit I wait a short while and the screen will automatically refresh and show your post similar to how they all look when you are browsing
Keep asking questions and we can all help |

Also if you scroll to the top of the page you can see the thread you are in
For eg
Forum Home > General Discussion - Chemtrails
If you click on each item ie.. "Forum home" or "General Discussion-Chemtrails" this will send you to that area. They are a link like a web page
Takes a little getting used to it but in no time you'll be an expert |

Okay, so I don't need to fill in Subject....good. I was really getting lost with that one.
Thanks again for all the welcome messages and help.
I had hoped to do the pictures yesterday, but it got busy and today has been a Mother's day event with family and friends calling and visiting...so maybe later this afternoon I will be able to sit and concentrate on doing it.
I ama finding sending the messages a lot easier.

Hi Everyone,
We uploaded some of our pictures from our visit with Betty on Arapawa Island to the Photo Gallery. We have added a new category for Places of Interest and will add other albums to this over time. These pics will give you a real sense of what life is like there for Betty and her animal menagerie...
http://www.mysteriousnewzealand.co.nz/photogallery/thumbnails.php?album=40
Betty, if we have anything wrong, or if you want to add anything to the captions, you can do so by adding comments in the gallery and we can make the necessary adjustments to the captions.
Making sure you are still logged in, from within the gallery view that includes the film strip beneath each larger image, if you scroll down till you can see the File Information table underneath the filmstrip panel, there is a comments field (where it says Comment on this Image). Make your comment and click OK. It would be great if we could at least put a name to the goat portraits!
If you cannot see the File Information panel, it may be hidden. To unhide it, click on the icon at the top left of the main window, just underneath where it says Photo Gallery Home.
If you have trouble with this, just Private Message us and refer to the image number with the relevant info. Many thanks! |

Hi Melodyand John
Great memories of your visit and a very nice set of pictures indeed. Loved the one of Miracle and Merlin trying to look dignified, Pamela loved it too;
Will go through them again and put names to the others as you requested.
Yesterday, I tried to reply to Tim Rose twice, but nothing happened. First time, I went into Preview and lost the whole letter, tried again and no luck....so will have another go later. Didn't get to sending pictures due to a busy Mother's Day schedule, so hopefully today after chores.
Thank you again for a wonderful collection of pictures....a real treasure.
Just heard you had a death in your family....so very sorry
Hugs Betty |
