|
|
Nephelococcygia (Gr.) Pron: ne fe lo kok je a :?
Means: The tendency to see or to be reminded of familiar objects within the shape of a cloud.
Nephology -- The study of clouds; the branch of meteorology that is concerned with cloud types, their formation, development and dissipation.
Apparently the words origins are from a play about a couple of blokes who were turned into birds (feathered variety) and while building a city in the sky they kept seeing different shapes in the clouds. Funnily enough the plays name was “The Birds”, and no it wasn’t written by Alfred Hitchcock, but by a chap named Aristophanes who wrote it in 414BC. (I’m still waiting for it to come out on DVD).
So basically, nephelococcygia means “cloud cuckoo land”. :( :(
The image below was taken by me at 11.11am on 20 Mar 05 and has not be altered other than an auto colour/contrast adjustment in PSE.
What “can” my fellow nephelococcics (Jeez get your tongue around that one)see in this image :?:
Has subliminal advertising reached new heights?
Oh well time for another coffee, hey but I just had one why do I feel like another :!: :!:

Nephelococcygia eh?!
If you ever get that one in Trivial Pursuit you'll be laughing. How the heck did you find that out?
By the way, on this subject, notice how many of those 'hole punch' clouds have a distinct :heart heart shape in the centre?
Maybe it's the HAARP-meisters way of subliminally telling us they really DO care?! :-({|=

A few years ago I learned there was a specific word for people who saw patterns in the clouds, guess what I forgot what the word was. After seeing and photographing the coffee cup/can in the image (above post) I did some research on the net and found it.

Good spotting, my fellow "nephelococcics." See, they really do care about us and it's not even Valentines Day. :D

I think this is either the HAARP Teams international morning coffee break signal, or have I captured them actually percolating the ionosphere.

Jelly fish anyone. Taken 28 March at 1044hrs. Sort of looks like a tornado. Notice the circular wind current forming a plate like top and a huge drop tail (virga) coming from the bottom. I'm not sure of what cloud classification this fits into but I will try and find out.

Carus,
Good point I shall ask her. Just to add there was minimal ground wind speed of perhaps 5 knots max from the west.
