|
|
We've just witnessed our first live chemtrail. We popped down the road to see the end of our son's cricket game and as we were sitting watching we saw a long white trail in front of us across the top of some clouds. The time was around 5-5.30pm. It stretched across the sky and as we looked to the left we saw it still be formed by the plane. The details of the plane weren't obvious. In true chemtrial style it stayed in the air and gradually spread until it was obscured by cloud below it.
It appeared to be running south-north over Auckland City. 8-[
On another occasion during last week our son told us about a strange cloud he'd seen at school with other kids during lunch. They looked up to see a cloud that had formed into a smoke ring that just hung in the air. Apparently they all looked at it and said "woah". On further questioning he said part of the cloud had broken off to the side and then the ring spread from the middle outwards. Sounds like it was quite well formed.

Hi Carus,
good sightings - wonder where that plane was going? Did you get a pic of it?
Do you get the idea that the ring your son saw was like the one that Joan photographed or more like the one featured here: http://www.catesfamily.org.uk/clouds.html - perhaps he could draw it while it's still fresh in his mind?

Hi John,
We didn't take the camera, so no pictures unfortunately. It was so ideal as well, just being able to sit there for a period of time. Will be able to post more info on the ring tomorrow.

Right on Carus,
A reminder to us also to always take a camera when we go out. Our cameras are so bulky though. Still, we've got our $25 NZ Herald camera coming this week - pocket size.

A drawing of the smoke ring cloud observed by our son is now in the photo gallery:

Hi Carus, it's an incredible sight watching these CTs being made and watching them mature into cloud like formations, sometimes over a period of many hours.
Wow what a sighting by your son. I am sure we would all dearly love to know how Mother Nature could form such an incredible cloud ring!!. I wonder what cloud classification meteorologists give too such occurrences.
Like I mentioned to Bloodhound, a camera is like an AMEX card, you should never leave home without one.

Hi Azimuth,
It would have been good to get a photo of this cloud ring. I think one needs to become very observant and knowledgeable to be able to discern between natural forming clouds and something else. It was quite hard getting an accurate description of this cloud ring from our son. I questioned him more a few days later and his recollection had become a bit hazey.
Mind you, some of the stuff we've been seeing lately is definitely questionable. The clouds you've posted in the gallery are quite remarkable, not to mention the chemtrails.

Thank you Carus. Yes indeed recollections of events are quickly clouded over a period of time (pardon the pun). However the sighting your son reported to you must have made an impression upon him for him to even discuss the event with you.
Just out of curiosity have you established time/date/place/direction/weather conditions etc. Could be interesting to have a look next time you are in that area so that any obvious causes such as industrial pollution i.e.Glennbrook etc can be eliminated as the culprit.
Clouds are very interesting, very pretty and their identification/classification can be difficult. Without a sound knowledge of meteorology one is only left with his or her instinct about certain clouds/cloud formations being unusual or unnatural. It would certainly be beneficial to this site if someone with a meteorological background or sound understanding of weather could be encouraged to join this forum and perhaps even run a cloud workshop. Until then I guess it is upon us to educate ourselves about such matters and to discuss such reports/photos here.
Keep looking up.
Kindest Regards

Hi Azimuth,
On further discussion, It was probably on 1st or 2nd of March around 1.30pm. The day was fine, not much wind with a few clouds. The cloud observed was on its own apparently.
The location is a boys high school in West Auckland in a residential area. However there may be some industry nearby. We took some photos a few weeks ago which are posted in the gallery which were a bit unusual.
I'd be keen for someone familiar with meteorology knowledge to come in on this...and yes..keep looking up!
