Over the past three days I have obsrved a new, dark helicopter buzzing quite low over the suburbs of Blockhouse Bay and Lynfield Auckland . It seems to be painted darkish blue and from what I can observe it is very similar to a MBB/Kawasaki BK117. Being a Blockhouse Bay resident, the twin Squirrel the Police currently use is a very familiar sight but this new guy has certainly been making his presence known with his bigger and faster machine. Any thoughts from Mysterious NZ members?

Ha! You noticed it too ay?! I didn't get a good look from where I heard & just saw it buzz over the hill but did notice the colour and the fact that it was a different machine to the normal police one.

Hi Crakka!

Yes the chopper in question has certainly been doing 'the rounds'. It has been circling around Blockhouse Bay and Green Bay the past couple of days. I'm glad that someone else has noticed it. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts regaring this new machine. This is certainly a new 'dark bird' bird in the sky.

Do we have a cause for concern here?

Maybe..... It's an unusual visitor to the skies above BHB. I observe the occasional Robinson training choppers from Ardmore and North Shore passing overhead but this Heli was flying low and fast and she definitely looked like a dark blue MBB. I observed it operating in such a manner on 3 consecutive days - this is highly unusual taking into account the normal air traffic that passes over the Blockhouse Bay and Lynfield area. I don't know if it's cause for concern but it's highly irregualr!

Hmm, so not an April Fool's Day article then 8)

Watched something recently that was about nuclear powered planes that were worked on decades ago in the US. From what I can recollect I'm pretty sure they said they had working prototypes. They said that full production never happened for similar concerns but they also mentioned that the technology being used then meant there was contaminated waste even during normal use.

Do you believe everything you read, hear or see in the (mostly mainstream) media? 8-[ To be sure the trick is to keep sheeple believing that technology is nowhere near as advanced as it actually is
