I would like to share something with you here that you probably won’t hear anywhere else.

It’s kept quiet because the people who live in the area are worried about the effect this would have on their house prices and I only learnt about it when I moved into the neighbourhood.

I personally never experienced anything strange while living there but I will relay the information anyway.

In Albany, Auckland, there was an old road called Mason’s Rd which had a vintage car club located on it. This road used to join to Oteha Valley Rd but is now blocked off and connects to Medallion Dr.

Masons Rd runs up a small hill near the intersection with Medallion Dr and at the top of this hill stands an old macrocarpa tree and the remains of an old farm fence.

This tree is supposedly haunted by a couple who it is believed died there in a car accident many years ago and I was told that they had been members of the vintage car club.

There have been sightings on the road and around the tree as well.

There is a relatively new apartment complex right next to this site and the residents there naturally witness the most activity.

These ghosts are normally observed walking alongside pedestrians and are not necessarily differentiated from an ordinary member of the public.

On one occasion, a resident in the apartment complex watched from their window as their daughter walked home with some friends from the bus stop down the road. When she entered the house, the parents came down to meet the visitors but their daughter was alone and claimed she had been since stepping off the bus.

For all you aspiring ghost hunters out there, the best time to observe them is in the early evening or morning around dusk and dawn.

Let me know if you turn something up. Good luck.
