walked past mcdonalds at thames and on the back of their shirts it is emblazoned CREW
and as per usual i played with the letters - not too hard lol it says WERC
hhhmmm

While we're at it here's some great "subverts" starting with this one cos it relates to the first post somewhat being made and used by WRAM (The Worker's Resistance Against McDonalds) lol -

If you thought that was funny I suggest again checking out The Celtic Rebel's commentary on McD's symbolism etc. There's lots of it in his work cos there's so much material to work with plus most of it's funneh as all uhh hell(?)! :twisted: Freeman's included a fair bit of McD's stuff in his corporate logo work too. All very interesting how the links go through & through & through... and my oh my, it is deep (ouch! sorry about the unintentional pun there!).
Here's a great example of a McDonald's billboard that ties in perfectly with the theme the Rebel was hittin' on in this hilarious but disturbing (for some) article -
(after that if you're in the mood for a more in-depth read expanding on one or two things in the Rebel blog but sooooo much more go here - interesting sheet awright :wink: McD's golden arch is mentioned briefly so ties in very slightly lol!) |
