By whose standards one would ask? This looks like a big salvo being fired off by the corporate water controllers! Look at the language like "unregistered", "unacceptable", "standards" & "Water supplies were... deteriorating" all in this short first report. Things are heating up and the corporates want guaranteed 100% population/customer usage of their chemical-laced "product" to maximise profits & obtain total control! How long before tank water is either banned or you're forced to purchase & add the same chemical cocktail to your tank that's put in town supplies?
GET THE REALISTIC ALTERNATIVE VIEW OUT THERE AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY!!! Human beings have been living very well on this planet for an awful long time without pharmaceuticals & chemically poisoned drinking water - these BS manmade huge profit-making things have only been introduced VERY, VERY, VERY recently in human history by the scum - we DO NOT NEED them FULLSTOP!!!
And oh look - how many outbreaks of water-borne illnesses this period? Why 33 of course  (but I'm sure that's just another coincidence of that number popping up in news headlines so far this year - about the 137,894th one at last count - so nothing to worry about  )
Fifth of Kiwis drinking unsafe water - survey 8:38 AM Wednesday Oct 27, 2010
One in five New Zealanders are drinking unsafe or unregistered water, a Ministry of Health survey shows.
Twenty per cent of Kiwis or about 849,000 people were supplied with water that either failed to meet bacteriological standards or had not been classified because sources were unregistered, The Press reported.
That was an increase from 712,000 people during the previous 2007-08 period.
Water supplies were also deteriorating with unacceptable levels of E. coli in water supplied to 93,000 people, the survey, covering July 2008-June 2009, found.
In addition, 118 - or 20 per cent - of 597 school and early childhood centres surveyed met safe drinking water standards.
While many schools had installed ultraviolet (UV) treatment to operate with filtration devices, a greater dose of UV was required to kill some viruses and protozoan parasites.
Five of 12 hospitals and health services failed to meet quality standards, the report said, while there were 33 outbreaks of water-borne illnesses, twice that of the previous period overall.

This sort of s-h-i-t-e should make any sane person mad as hell BUT as we know, there's not much sanity left out there anymore... and with fluoride & aspartame intake on the up (to name just 2 brain destroyers) it's gettin' worse by the day
