| Interesting you say the outburst was heart shaped. Mars was in the heart of leo, the lionheart. Virgo has just birthed saturn out of her womb. The sun now shines in libra the scales of justice. The new born king is now ready for the sceptre and throne. |

1389 Pops Again:
Sunspot 1389 is back at it again, this time producing a moderate M2.0 s/f at 21:51 UTC Thursday evening. There is now a 5% chance for an X-Class event according to NOAA.
M-Flare / Sunspot 1389: Active region 1389 which rotated into view off the eastern limb, produced a moderate M1.9 Solar Flare this morning at 13:50 UTC. This region is quite large and may produce further activity on Thursday.
Large Sunspot 1389 (Thursday) - SDO
Solar Update:
Solar activity remains moderate heading into Friday. Sunspot 1389 produced two M-Class flares on Thursday, the largest of which being an M2.0 event. An M1 flare also took place very early on Friday morning. There will remain the chance for more solar flares around this region on Friday.
----------------------------
There is some very interesting discussion in the Solar Cycle 24 forums so I suggest anyone interested go there asap for further reading. |

Incoming CME / Solar Update
2/27/2012 by Kevin VE3EN at 14:45 UTC
Comment on Message Board
Updated 2/27/2012 @ 15:45 UTC
Incoming CME
A solar wind increase to near 550 km/s was detected by the ACE Spacecraft around 20:50 UTC Sunday. A geomagnetic sudden impulse was detected by the Boulder station at 21:41 UTC. The impact was minor and only minor geomagnetic activity with a Kp of 4 resulted.
UPDATE: The Interplanetary Magnetic Field (Bz) has been pointing south this morning (Monday) and combined with the solar wind near 500 km/s, it may stir up more geomagnetic activity at very high latitudes.
Updated 2/27/2012 @ 14:45 UTC
Solar Update
Solar activity has been low with only minor C-Class activity detected around plage region 1421, including a C2.3 event at 21:41 UTC. All of the current visible sunspots remain stable and there is no chance for strong solar flares at this time.

Thanks Deano. Very latest update at SolarHam now lists this as a full halo direct CME impact event which is fairly significant. Current UTC time at posting this comment is Wednesday, 7 March 2012 at 22:58:00 - world clock current times are HERE so if my maths is correct we should start to see/feel impact effects in about 7+ hours (please correct me if I'm wrong as that was done very quickly before signing off & heading out the door!).

Incoming Full-Halo CME
Incoming! The new WSA-Enlil Solar Wind Prediction is calling for a direct CME impact during the middle of tomorrow (March 8 ). The solar wind is expected to increase to over 800 km/s and Strong Geomagnetic Storming will be possible. This plasma cloud is the result of the X5.4 and X1.3 Solar Flare event very early this morning. In the new movie below, you can see that the plasma cloud is Full-Halo and heading this way. Click HERE to watch the latest model run.
Arrival Time Update Please note that the expected arrival time of the plasma cloud will be between 0600-1000 UTC. This means sometime after 2am EST, we can expect the first signs of the incoming Coronal Mass Ejection.

CME Impact / Geomagnetic Storm in Progress
The ACE Spacecraft detected a shock passage and a Geomagnetic Sudden Impulse measuring 58 nT at the Boulder Station was just recorded. The Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) caused by the X5.4 Solar Flare is now impacting Earth.
A G1 Level Geomagnetic Storm is now in progress. Be on the lookout for Aurora if it is dark outside and if you are high in latitude.
ALERT: Geomagnetic K-index of 5
Threshold Reached: 2012 Mar 08 1130 UTC
Synoptic Period: 0900-1200 UTC
Active Warning: Yes
NOAA Scale: G1 - Minor
SUMMARY: Geomagnetic Sudden Impulse
Observed: 2012 Mar 08 1105 UTC
Deviation: 58 nT
Station: Boulder
What is a Geomagnetic Sudden Impulse? A sudden magnetic impulse represents a rapid momentary fluctuation of the geomagnetic field over a period of only a few minutes. It is generally associated with interplanetary shockwaves produced by energetic solar events and can (but need not always) be followed by increased geomagnetic activity.

CME Impact Update / Geomagnetic Storm Subsides

CME Impact / Geomagnetic Storm Subsides
The ACE Spacecraft detected a shock passage and a Geomagnetic Sudden Impulse measuring 58 nT at the Boulder Station was recorded at 11:05 UTC Thursday morning. The Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) caused by the X5.4 Solar Flare did impact Earths geomagnetic field.
Minor Geomagnetic Storming (Kp=5) persisted for many hours today, but the Kp Index has now dropped below the G1 minor storm level. Depending on the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF), there will be a chance for additional storm flareups over the hours ahead. Visible Aurora will remain possible at very high latitudes..
Bz Update The Bz component of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) has been pointing mostly to the north and this has kept the geomagnetic storm at minor levels thus far. Should the Bz begin to point south for long durations, this may help intensify the storm.
Strong Solar Wind The current Solar Wind speed remains near 700 km/s as per the SOHO Spacecraft data. As you can tell by the updated graph below, the solar wind spiked to above 800 km/s when the CME shock swept past SOHO.

Well, I've suggested that banning for no reason is ungodly behaviour
And a few similar good-natured suggestions
I've been quite nice, I think |

| Well once upon a time someone suggested that the site was run by certain agencies, not private individuals as such, hence i have been going there for years and never joined up, not that they havent probably already checked into your history anyway, they have probably already done a behavioural analysis and full background check on you hehe well thats the conspiracy anyways |

Well said, Deano
The corporations are the polluters, and their day is nearly over.
The day of the electric motor is approaching.
If we get a real change of the guard, (questionable ! ). maybe planned obsolescence will go out the window. As they used to say on "Thunderbirds", "anything can happen in the next half-hour!" |

1432 Flares / Strong M7.9 Solar Flare + CME / Comet

1432 Produces Moderate Flare
A moderate M2.8 Solar Flare peaked at 15:21 UTC and was centered NOT around Sunspot 1429, but around Sunspot 1432 located towards the middle of the visible solar disk. Somewhat of a slow moving CME plasma cloud is seen in the latest STEREO Behind COR images and may be partially headed this way. SDO Captures the flare in action below.

Strong Solar Flare Detected + CME
Just when you think things are getting quiet, the Sun says not so fast. A strong solar flare reaching M7.9 was detected around Sunspot 1429. An R2 Radio Blackout resulted on the sunlit side of the Earth. A 10cm Radio Burst (TenFlare) and a Type II Radio Emission with a velocity of 1366 km/s were detected. The proton levels around Earth did rise quickly shortly after the flare reaching S2 Moderate Radiation Storm levels. Because AR11429 is now located towards the northwest limb, the chances for Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections are not as good as compared to last week. A bright and full-halo CME was generated, but looks to be mostly directed towards the west. A glancing blow impact will still be possible within 48 hours. Video presentation is now below. You can also follow the latest updates on SolarHam Facebook and by then clicking "LIKE".
Flare Producer - An interesting fact. Of the top 20 Solar Flares recorded during Solar Cycle 24, a quarter of those (5) were produced by Sunspot 1429. (X5.4, X1.3, X1.1, M8.4 and M7.9.
Watch the video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cE7q7axeE5Q
CME Forecast Track - The WSA-Enlil Solar Wind Prediction has been updated to show the track of today's Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). There will be chance for at least a glancing blow impact on March 16. Visit this LINK to watch the latest CME forecast.
Updated 3/14/2012 @ 15:00 UTC
Solar Update / Comet
Sunspot 1429 continues to rotate towards the western limb. Solar activity has been fairly quiet since the M7.9 Solar Flare yesterday afternoon. The proton levels are on the slow decline, however a minor S1 Radiation Storm remains in progress. All of the other current Sunspot regions, 1432, 1433 and 1434 remain stable.
New video below by STEREO Behind COR2 showing a Comet named "Swan" diving into the Sun.
Watch the video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plFNoveUBiM
Below there is a new SDO image of a giant triangle shaped Coronal Hole. This is basically a hole in the Sun's atmosphere and is associated with open magnetic field lines. High speed solar winds will flow from these regions and once the hole is squarely facing Earth, you can sometimes expect increased geomagnetic activity within several days.

Death Star SUCKS PLASMA FROM SUN in NASA riddle vid
Solar belch sparks refuelling UFO, black hole conspiracies
By Brid-Aine Parnell
Posted in Space, 14th March 2012 10:58 GMT
Keen-eyed skywatchers have spotted a mysterious object emerging from the Sun that, according to the tinfoil-hatted YouTube majority, can only be a UFO, a small black hole, a world-destroying weapon or maybe a new planet.
Watch the video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5AwrJQ7V6bw
Images show a shadowy spherical object apparently tethered to home world's star by a dark string. After much debate on YouTube, folks had come to the natural conclusion that it was some sort of alien ship fuelling up on solar plasma or possibly a new planet being born, particularly because you can see a Star Wars Death Star-like sphere blast away from the Sun.
One particular avid sun-worshipper going by the name of Sunsflare posted the video, a composite of telescope imagery taken by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory, on his Facebook page as well as on YouTube, and asked for boffins' opinions on the phenomenon.
C. Alex Young, a solar astrophysicist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Centre, who also runs a website called The Sun Today, kindly obliged in a posted video answer to Sunsflare that, unfortunately for ET-lovers everywhere, explained that the tethered sphere was actually quite a common occurrence.
"Filaments, when you see them on the solar disc at certain wavelengths, they appear to be dark because they're cooler material in relation to what's in the background. When you see them on the edge of the sun we call them prominences but they're the same objects," Young said.
"They sit in this kind of tunnel called the filament channel so when you look at it from the edge of the sun, what you see is this spherical object and you're actually looking down the tunnel."
You can hear and see his full explanation here.
Joseph Gurman, project scientist in the Solar Physics Laboratory at the Goddard centre, told Life's Little Mysteries that when a prominence extends out of the Sun, it's usually a sign that it's about to erupt - just as this one did.
"It's generally accepted, though still not conclusively proven, that prominence eruptions occur when the overlying magnetic field that contains the prominence material is disrupted," he said
