These clouds were sighted as we travelled over the Whangamoa saddle – 15 Jan 2010. Very ‘thick’ appearance ... pretty intense and changing quickly. These stood out as there was little to no cloud at that time. Classification? .... pass. A while back Smashdracs took video footage of spooky cloud activity on top of the Whangamoa saddle ... maybe an area for strange cloud biz.
Images in chronological order . See how the cloud breaks up and reduces in size quickly, yet some patches remain intense and have defined detail that I find intriguing – how’s that patch of atmosphere producing these clouds and/or effects?
