14th Januray - Pelorus Valley
‘Fall-streak’ clouds drifting eastward down the Pelorus Valley, Marlborough. Not a common sighting, but have become more frequent over the last few years. As far as I understand, Fall-streak clouds = ice accumulation, too heavy, falls. I think the last two images would be categorised as fall-streak also but I am not sure – they appear to be tearing ... lesions ... not a rare sight these days either.

Very common sighting above Auckland, and everywhere else, these days ruapaka :wink: Something dramatic has definitely happened in the last few years climatewise and skywards and now we are seeing cloud patterns that once were occasional on almost a daily basis.
