There seems to have been a bit of unusual activity over Auckland skies lately.
Historically, we haven't really seen any apparent deliberate chemtrail operation in Auckland, the likes of which occurs elsewhere in New Zealand. We have often arisen in the morning to see some pretty suspicious looking cloud formations, but unless we see something actually laying these things down, no conclusions can be drawn about the nature of them. We have heard reports of spraying operations occurring at night - someone in Australia confirmed that this indeed goes on. We have no way of knowing whether this kind of activity occurs here.
Lately however, there have been a number of sightings of unusual formations and increased contrail activity in the Auckland area:
Neighbours dining with Canadian friends in Parnell a week ago witnessed two dramatic fly overs, one plane, followed by another a short time later, leaving huge contrails across the evening sky over Auckland Harbour. These were seen to dissipate, however, they sounded somewhat on the large side. We'll try to get more information and post it here as a follow up. They acknowledged that it was an unusally dramatic thing to see, although their Canadian friends made a comment that 'they see that sort of thing all the time in Canada'.
The following evening, friends spotted an odd loop shaped contrail formation over West Auckland at dusk. It appeared dark in colour and lingered for a long time before darkness obscured their view of it. Chatting to a shop owner some days later, we ascertained that he had seen the creation of this same loop. He recalled that it was white when he first saw it (the dark colour could have been a product of the time of day). It began as a straight line, then as it was being laid down, curved around like a question mark, then went on, to form a broken loop, with a definite starting and stopping point. This week, someone living in that same area came out in the morning to find his car covered in a strange sticky brown 'goo'. The car had been parked under a tree. The section of vehicle sheltered by the overhanging tree was unaffected, so it appears, that whatever coated his car, had dropped from the sky. It coated the entire length of the vehicle from the roof, down the sides and where the rivulets of the substances ended, thicker droplets had formed. When he touched it, the substance was sticky. Unfortunately, an untimely rain shower prevented good photographic or physical evidence from being obtained. He did a little research on the Internet to find similar reports occurring in spray zones overseas. Inconclusive, but nevertheless, an unusual occurrence.
This morning on the way back from a walk, we saw what appeared to be a very newly formed persistent contrail over the Awhitu Peninsular beyond the Manukau Harbour. When we saw it, it was still very thin, with a long straight section and a bend at one end. By the time we rushed home for the camera and took a quick trip up to the top of Mount Atkinson to get photos, it had spread out quite considerably. You can see a couple of photos of it here:
brown sticky goo eh... when i read reports of american chemtrails they say it creates a spider web like substance which blankets huge fields and open spaces
Can you give us a bit more information about this photo - Is it representative of what is settling on the ground after chemtrails occur or some spider web? Also do you know where this occured? Thanks :)
