I thought this was great to read - promising ....I am hoping to attend - it could be interesting - farmers are good at speaking out and they don't tolerate BS.

A public forum tomorrow night, organised by Marlborough Federated Farmers, will discuss the impact of the impending Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS).
The Emissions Trading Scheme, What It Means For You, had been organised "because there's so much controversy about the science of global warming", said Marlborough Federated Farmers past president David Dillon.
"We think global warming is nonsense ... We think it is global cooling not global warming. We want the science proved."
The ETS announced by the Government last month will limit the amount of greenhouse gases that different sectors of the economy can emit.
Businesses that exceed their free allocation will have to buy carbon credits from those who are under their cap or who plant trees.
However, Marlborough Federated Farmers believes the science behind climate change is incorrect.
The fourth Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change assessment report released last year drew on six years of research by 2500 scientists from more than 130 countries, and said global warming was "unequivocal", with human activity more than 90 per cent likely to be the cause of an increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide to 379 parts per million (ppm), up from 280ppm before the Industrial Revolution.
The panel warned that by 2050, there was very likely to be loss of high-value land, faster road deterioration, degraded beaches, and reduced farm and forestry production in southern and southeastern Australia and parts of eastern New Zealand.
The warmer temperatures and decreasing water resources would increase the burden of some diseases, and global sea levels would rise 59 centimetres this century.
"The IPCC are fraudsters: they don't tell the truth," said Mr Dillon. "We want the public to know what the real truth is."
Tomorrow night Dr Vincent Gray, a founding member of the New Zealand Climate Science Coalition, sceptical about global warming, will speak about the science involved.
Federated Farmers national president Don Nicolson will speak about the impact of the ETS on agriculture, and Kaikoura MP Colin King will present the Government's stance on climate change and the Emissions Trading Scheme.
The meeting would target the whole community, Mr Dillon said.
"We'd like as many people as possible to come along and attend because they could be making decisions that affect the world for a long while down the track. I don't think people realise the seriousness of it."
The forum will be held at the Heartland Scenic Circle Hotel in Blenheim tomorrow at 7pm.

Yep, good to see. I read with interest the earlier article about the petition Gisborne area farmers had got together. Let's hope it spreads as quick as it needs to. Pretty sure farmers will band together given their livelihoods are being threatened but the general public is another story... Again, when it hits 'em in the face... but by then will it be too late?
