I've posted several times now with photos of short, often double or multiple trails out over or off the west coast of West Auckland. They are always in the same region and nearly always on the same angle and in the same sector of sky. It's become very obvious to me after seeing this several times now that there's some kind of program going on with this "spraying". More importantly, we're not being told about it!

We haven't seen much lately mainly because the weather's been so crap and overcast so much but finally conditions were quite nice out west today and with the large cold front and low moving up NZ I just had a feeling I was going to see something out west as I headed towards Scenic Drive this afternoon. Well when I got to my first destination up Scenic Drive between Swanson and the Bethells Beach turnoff I saw the first sign that something might be "on" today. What looked very suspiciously to me like a big long starting-to-spread-out PT loomed across the sky as I walked up to a clearing off the road looking SW. Didn't see this being laid but it looks pretty damn typical to me and the same as ones I've seen actually being laid that then spread. Here's 2 pan shots taken about 3.30pm -





So then I hit the road for Kumeu via Waitakere thinking that was probably it for today. However as I reached the brow of the steep hill on the Waitakere Road up from the Scenic Drive turnoff I was greeted with a very familiar site! Out to the west was a fresh new trail being laid on exactly the same angle as they always are with a just previously laid one to the left of that starting to spread. I took a few shots here then continued my journey. Further down the road I noticed yet another fresh one being laid parallel to the one I'd just taken shots of and I couldn't believe my luck at being right there to see it yet again! VERY DAMN OBVIOUS this is not some random contrail activity now that I've seen the very same activity several times now. There's a definite method being applied here of laying these short trails all at the same height in the same area and all staggered out. Here's the series of shots as I took them from near the start of the Waitakere Road to just outside Kumeu all between approx just after 4.00pm to approx 4.30pm -





















BUT THERE'S MORE! Now that the trails have been laid and spread out what next? There must be a reason they've done that right? Well although these aren't the clearest images I'm sure you'll be able to see what happens now to this patch of spread out trail about 30-45mins after the last photo above and now that some normal cloud has drifted into the area. This was taken in the exact same area as the last photo above but just standing about 30-40 metres further back. I can only assume the 2 black dots are birds (?) -

Interesting hmmmm?!!! The striations were VERY clear to the naked eye and formed just during that 35-40min timespan (I was working during that period so didn't notice just how quickly they formed though). Notice how white that trail "cloud" is? Well watch what happens when I simply turn the photos negative ala a simple click in Irfanview. The 200% zoom above first then a resize of the whole uncropped image -





Whaddya reckon dudes? Again, wish I had a decent camera or more realistically, the money to buy a better camera! And schadow, please tell me you saw this too?! 8-[ Photographed even? :oops: Still feel like the lone ranger in the wild west out here ](*,)

John & Melody maybe I need to get your mobile number now and send a quick text next time this happens just in case you guys are in a position to get some "decent" shots that will actually show things more clearly cos some proper evidence of this activity needs to be recorded 8)

There has been a little bit of activity that I have seen down here but not much. This year and the end of last year have been incredibly quiet.

Maybe things are starting to heat up again eh? :wink:

We've seen a couple of "normal" contrails, real short ones, over the last few weeks up here. They were in different areas of the sky and were clearly different to the kind of things seen above that I've seen often now out west. I'm so not convinced that these short ones out west now are normal. These aircraft fly into the area, do a short burst of trail then stop it and then minutes later another short burst is laid along side it in exactly the same area just like the aircraft has doubled back and done "another run". It's nearly always late in the afternoon and always in the same region of sky and as far as I can tell so far, always when the wind is the prevailing westerly (or slight variant). It's clearly a stop-start action like a valve is being turned on and off and i can't imagine that this kind of thing "naturally" occurs in exactly the same way every single time. I certainly never noticed any of this kind of thing happening for all the years I sat on my surfboard in the water at piha late afternoon to dusk (and I used to surf regularly midweek in my heyday!).
