We have been experiencing very poor internet connection for a couple of weeks - hence the delay ... my apologies

Here is a collection of what was around the skies on the dates given ...

13 April

1. 10:45am - facing north



15 April

2. 11:38am .. facing NE



17 April

3. 8:24am ... facing NNE



4. 8:31am ... facing N



18 April ... a bit of a PT onslaught that day ... some unusual/striking cirrus?? forms ...

5. 1:02pm - facing north



6. 1:06pm - facing up



7. 2:59pm - facing NNW



8. 3:04pm - facing SE .. the above two trails further south - overhead ... a bit freaky looking eh?..


9. 3:06pm - facing NNW ... some detection of colours where the north end of trail meets a cirrus band - centre of image.



10. 3:20pm - facing W ... I watched this cloud form for a while ... very low for cirrus I thought ... there appeared to be some reaction to the PTs

We're experiencing a lot of similar cloud in Auckland on an almost daily basis to that seen in those photos & in a lot cases much weirder looking! That effect at the top of photo no. 3 is VERY common up here. Also, notable up here is a LOT of colouration on clouds of that oil-slick type - yesterday being a great example with lots of very vivid stuff, horizontal "straight" rainbows and those "sundog" type rainbow effects. This morning I've already seen rainbow colours on some cirrus clouds similar to stuff I saw a while back that's neither of the 2 previously mentioned effects in this post. Definitely lots of "entertainment" up there right now!!!

:D thanks for the comments ... there's eerie beauty in them there skies, dagnabit ... I position, focus and click - the 'content' does the rest. :)


Just for a bit of interest .....
I found a couple of 'spots' in one of the images I first posted here (# 4) ... left hand one could be bug, ?? ... the right hand one appears like a hole or something behind a layer of cloud - seen this type of 'spot' in one other image.
