Report: Democrats Refuse to Allow Skeptic to Testify Alongside Gore At Congressional Hearing
'House Democrats don't want Gore humiliated'
Washington, DC -- UK's Lord Christopher Monckton, a former science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, claimed House Democrats have refused to allow him to appear alongside former Vice President Al Gore at a high profile global warming hearing on Friday April 24, 2009 at 10am in Washington. Monckton told Climate Depot that the Democrats rescinded his scheduled joint appearance at the House Energy and Commerce hearing on Friday. Monckton said he was informed that he would not be allowed to testify alongside Gore when his plane landed from England Thursday afternoon.
“The House Democrats don't want Gore humiliated, so they slammed the door of the Capitol in my face,” Monckton told Climate Depot in an exclusive interview. “They are cowards.”
According to Monckton, Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas), Ranking Member on the Energy & Commerce Committee, had invited him to go head to head with Gore and testify at the hearing on Capitol Hill Friday. But Monckton now says that when his airplane from London landed in the U.S. on Thursday, he was informed that the former Vice-President had “chickened out” and there would be no joint appearance. Gore is scheduled to testify on Friday to the Subcommittee on Energy and the Environment's fourth day of hearings on the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. The hearing will be held in 2123 Rayburn House Office Building.
According to Monckton, House Democrats told the Republican committee staff earlier this week that they would be putting forward an unnamed 'celebrity' as their star witness Friday at a multi-panel climate hearing examining the House global warming bill. The "celebrity" witness turned out to be Gore. Monckton said the GOP replied they would respond to the Democrats' "celebrity" with an unnamed "celebrity" of their own. But Monckton claims that when the Democrats were told who the GOP witness would be, they refused to allow him to testify alongside Gore.
[ Update: 1:55 PM EST: A GOP House source told Climate Depot that the Democrats on the Committee said “absolutely not” to allowing Monckton to appear during today's Gore hearing. The GOP committee “pushed at multiple levels” to bring Monckton in to testify but the Democrats “refused,” according to the GOP source. Former GOP House Speaker Newt Gingrich was called in to testify after Monckton was rejected by the committee Democrats, according to the Congressional source.]
“The Democrats have a lot to learn about the right of free speech under the US Constitution. Congress Henry Waxman's (D-CA) refusal to expose Al Gore's sci-fi comedy-horror testimony to proper, independent scrutiny by the House minority reeks of naked fear,” Monckton said from the airport Thursday evening.
“Waxman knows there has been no 'global warming' for at least a decade. Waxman knows there has been seven and a half years' global cooling. Waxman knows that, in the words of the UK High Court judge who condemned Gore's mawkish movie as materially, seriously, serially inaccurate, 'the Armageddon scenario that he depicts is not based on any scientific view,'” Monckton explained. Monckton has previously testified before the House Committee in March. (See: Monckton: Have the courage to do nothing...US Congress told climate change is not real ) Monckton has also publicly challenged Gore to a debate. (See: Al Gore Challenged to International TV Debate on Global Warming By Lord Monckton - March 19, 2007 )
A call to the Democratic office of the House Energy and Commerce Committee seeking comment was not immediately returned Thursday night.

| Folks, please add all the information above including all the links & related articles to your armoury when discussing the Global Warming issue with anyone who just doesn't get it & swallows everything they hear & see in corporate-controlled media. Some more great stuff there from well-informed scientists and "experts" on the other side of the fence to show it's not just "paranoid conspiracy theorists" opposing this farce. |

Crakka! You know the other day I said you might get a visit from a militant greeny? Weellllll I think we had better upgrade that to a busload of them
The Gorey truth of big Al.
Peace prize? The same big Al that along with Clinton reigned death upon citizens and made life living hell for living innocents in Iraq and in Bosnia?
Good posting brother keep up the good work. Who knows what may inadvertently spring from the turning of the tide. |

| when you think about it tho we have been in a total state of fear of the planet being doomed at least since i was little - 41 years of it for me - blimmen A-bombs, cold war (the bad russians! (specially in kids progs like 6 million dollar man), i remember pollution not-so-propa-ganda films when i was about 7 - totally ingrained into brain - so this is the "new generation" of fear-mongering for the littlies .... |

Yup chroo enough! In the old daze the Ruskies were the bad guys now it's Al Gore oops I mean Al Quaida
FEAR - False Expectations Appear Real
It appears real enough when you assume that;
the govt is there to represent and help us
the media is there to inform us
the doctors are there to heal us
the church is there to save our souls
the lawyers..... etc etc
Fortunately the best side effect of stepping outside the above mindset is you see it for what it is and feel "less" fear.
By less I don't mean a romp through the heather with Heather, I mean you focus on what your own mind and emotions are squawking about and say;
"umm no actually your just a programmed response, I choose not to take you seriously"
It's been my mission of this entire lifetime to do that anyhoo  |

Hang in there man! We need you!
Just need to have balance - get away from the pc/radio/etc for a couple of days, clear your mind of all this stuff and go for a bush walk, a surf, a skate, fishing for food and relaxation, etc, etc, etc. Enjoy nature for a couple of days or more, get back in touch and most importantly talk to your friends and family about anything other than this stuff for a while. It'll work wonders at rejuvenating your mind, body & soul. Oh yeah and... stay off the pot!!! :) |

FACT - The most potent poisons around come from nature!
Just one example of many, many, many, many, etc - http://www.didyouknow.org/animals/octopus.htm
This little cutie will put you into a catatonic state whereby anyone checking you out will be convinced you are dead as your heart rate & pulse slow so much it's undetectable. It will eventually kill you but leading up to that nobody will try to revive you as you will appear dead for a period before you actually die! All the while your mind at least will be conscious enough to realise that nobody knows you're actually alive!
Poisonous tree frogs produce what is considered the most potent available per weight/volume.
Many natural food substances will kill you if not prepared properly or if you eat the wrong part of the plant/animal.
Now I'm not saying pot perse is poisonous here. In various forms it obviously has amazingly beneficial properties (of the same family, Hemp is one of the best superfoods known to man). Unfortunately setting fire to it and inhaling the fumes is the worst possible way you can take it into your body! Whenever you see public displays or promotions, news articles or any kind of media presentation on pot it will nearly always focus on the smoking of it. This to me is yet another example of leading people astray by getting them to take up the least healthy practice possible when a natural & potentially very beneficial natural product is out there in the public arena. We all know how it works when things are made illegal, especially a naturally occurring plant that has such great potential for good health! How many Datura trees do you see the police pulling out? The negative potential of those natural plants (just to name one of many in our midst) is WAY worse that marijuana... |

There ya go dak fiends!! Inhale and impale yourself
Just kidding, Crakkas right though about the plant world and the perception of nature in general.
Like the cute Gazelle having it's throat ripped out by a giant pussycat!
Sorry to be graphic and cynical.
But hmm it seems like I could be in like minded company
But the biz of dak being illegal when more people die of medical misadventure than the rest of the earthly horrors put together, shows the weird system that we live in.
Utterly unexamined by the sheeple. |

| Oh and if I'm not mistaken, some of the most lethal poisons ever come from some of the simplest life forms in nature - simple plant forms like fungus, etc. Jest keepin' it reel 8) |
