... different day, same sh*t ...
I spotted a segment of a persistent trail to the west around 8:00 this morn ... to the west - drifting nor-west. Just as I had finished setting camera up for what maybe a day of PTs, low and behold ... pics below.
This might be the only spotting for the day ... seems to be that PTs are more random than regular these past few months.
Lower Pelorus Valley - 8:34am - facing NW. Northbound.
... overhead ...
... 8:36am ...
Note the second image - overhead shot ... the space running along the edge of the trail .... mmmm .... at a distance it could be conceived as a 'beam' / shadow ... appears to be a trail v atmosphere reaction ... ?? |

| Hi Ruapaka,I was hoping you would be out there with your camera this morning.Sounded like they were busy last night too.Chemtrails have been very random lately,we thought it might have something to do with the economy, who knows! |

Hey there A Butler :) .... camera set up since early this morn ... got two more trails so far - northbound. I will wait out the daylight hours and do the image-posting mish later tonight..
I am seeing familiar bands drifting in from the south-west - I gotta a feeling the Richmond/Nelson area getting more than here (Pelorus).
Thursdays skies are not usually busy - and there is cloud building up .... so, there is probably not going to be too many obs of PTs today. We'll see. |

| Great photos. In between the overcast sky and rain I have seen all the muck drifting over Wellington from this over the last few days. |

.... reminiscent of the heavier trail days we have had in the past ... not an onslaught but a number of persistent trails observed during the course of the day ... can't help but wonder if the air-traffic was heavier I might have seen more persistent trails.
Here are some images of what was seen here in the Pelorus ...
4. ... 11:39am ... northbound
5. ... same plane 23 secs later ...
6. ... 11:41am ... southbound ... this one is quite fresh -caught sight of plane when it was about half way across the valley - by the time I got camera in position etc the trail had morphed to this ... by no means a rare sight ... rather than spreading, some of the trail 'material' appears to be falling
7. ... 12:45pm ... southbound persistent trail in the distance
8. ... 1:24pm ... southbound trail ... falling material ?
9. ... 1:28pm ... same trail as above .. don't often see trails skewing like this.
10 ... 7:16pm ... southbound (another, I'm used to seeing mostly northbound craft laying trails).
11. ... 8:38pm ... threw this one in to show you how the day ended - no visible trails

Smashdracs ... I reckon it be good if there were more of us ... and think about the tiny little peephole to the skyward happenings I have here in the valley where I spend most of my time. There is a lot of sky up there - what are we missing. :-) Be really "valuable" to have an organised group of folk in various locations around NZ doing the same thing ... collecting data.
... it's a bit of a mish getting 'data' posted - as you would well know - I am driven by doing my bit to trip some sh*thead up one day. (starting to dribble - time for bed) |

HAh! yeah. Your doing a good job man. For sure it would be excellent for more people to jump on board and share.
It is definitely some work to....
(A) watch the sky all the time
(B)Photograph anything interesting
(C)Post it online
I have heaps of respect for all you guys on this forum who do just that :!: |

There's definitely A LOT MORE going on up there all over NZ than the little we can see evidenced in the forums here! ruapaka certainly does a fantastic job getting all this stuff from his area documented online here. Hats off mate!
It's obvious we're also missing a sh*tload! Personally I'm absolutely sure there's heaps more going on in and around Auckland for instance than most would be aware - see my post 12 Mar 2009 for example.
Keep up the good work ruapaka and anyone else who can make the effort! We need more eyes & lenses pointed upwards so anyone out there reading this that can join in and contribute who hasn't up till now, don't be shy, get cracking, I certainly welcome more input and I know everyone else here would feel the same way :) |

I would say "amen" but now I know that's not an option any more
But I have been on the verge of pointing out that there is a good possibility of plenty of lurkers either too shy or feel inadequate about posting.
I know this because I was one, and have been since the days of Hector ( no not the dole phin, the skeptic )
It might be no big deal to some to organize photobucket and "risk" putting themselves on view. However some might not be so keen.
So ( in the words of our resident Westy ) don't be shy and get Crakka ing
As for the Gisborne contingency - It's a bit of a mixed bag, I am glad I don't see any trails, and it is not for lack of watching I can assure you.
We have this incredibly wonderful resource here in the form of MNZ. It's a global reality we are all in now, and the ability to share and discuss at a local level is priceless :) |

Hey Niksta ... :-) ... you said ...

Sounds like you don't get trails in your area ... that info (data) is just as valuable as where they are appearing. Comparisons could be made, etc etc.
... Niksta also said ...

I was one of them too ... until Smashdracs posted a request for 'reporters' in Marlborough ... I took the plunge and haven't looked back (just up LOL) ... so, for all those who might like to contribute, please do so - any solid info has value, eh? I know I would like to know what is going on in other parts of our beautiful country. |
