Monday started out with crystal clear skies over the lower Pelorus Valley - clean and fresh after the weather fronts that rolled through over last few days. Not to last ... mid morning high cirrus forms arrived and continued to increase over the mid part of day.
I saw one lingering trail being laid (segmented and dissipated quicker than usual) - when there was considerable cirrus hazy patches. Many whispy forms - and a range of 'plumes' - (see pic below). Skies cleared later in day - no trails on any kind observed other that above mentioned.
I've come in on Cloud Appreciation forum with this post so I can 'log' this image of what I see a lot of around here. What is happening with these plumes. Ice condensing? Why the 'lines' of condensing?
