The Supressed History of Ancient New Zealand - anyone else read the excellent article on pg 67 of the Jan - March 2009 Uncensored Magazine by Martin Doutre?
Keen to hear your thoughts. It's about time more of the truth came out about this!!! |

Kia ora Transformer
Not having much idea of what the article you refer to was about, I tried googling to see what I would find out. I rarely buy magazines and not familiar with Martin Doutre. Anyway, I found an open letter to the editor of Franklin E. Local from Scott Hamilton - Scoop Nov 08. There are many comments that follow the letter (no surprises there) - Doutre and Hamilton getting in the ring together ... Keri Hulme gets in a jab or two too. Thought you might be interested if you not already aware of the letter.

I know of stories passed around of 'different' people around during early Maori. Hairy (red) Giants being one kind - stealing Maori wahine and they escaping (sometimes pregnant) to tell stories of living underground as slaves. Not exactly the Celtic thing eh? (Maybe that inner earth thing there??) There are also stories of 'little' people, especially in my area ... who lived in pits. And there are other stories .... of course, the stories come from Maori sources - who else. |

Quite a "discussion" going on there!!! After finally having waded through it all though I am left with one niggling little sensation that irritates more than any other - the way Scott opens with the whole us/them, right/left, science/pseudoscience, etc dialectic and just continues to pick away at the scab throughout. While there's a front of scientific knowledge, any kind of "wisdom" he tries to portray just gets lost as he continues to weild the divide & conquer sword imo.
After only the first 3 paragraphs (of 28!) he uses the term "Nazi" and then peppers his posts from then on with emotive, Hegellian landmines for people to step on. And they do so on both sides by my observation.
This statement by Scott caught my attention too -
"I’m open to the possibility that the facts of the history and prehistory of this country might one day have to be rewritten..."
I wonder if his mind is open enough to consider that it might already have been, several or even many times like those of other regions in the world?!!!
And then this from another observer -
Edward,
I have been following this debate since I stumbled upon it early this week and in my humble oponion Scott and Yourself have elevated Martin to cult status.
Congratulations.
No one in there right mind would advocate celts peopled New Zealand prior to the Maori. But you two seem to be so preoccupied by this idea, well, there now seems to be a DOUBT.
And does this person mean people in their "left" mind might advocate celts peopled New Zealand lol?!
I'm not going enter my own opinion into the debate but it's very interesting to see how both sides handled themselves here. 8) |

| Up in northland my olde stompe grounde Noel Hilliam and compatriots have uncovered a wealth of pre-maori artefacts over the years. At the start he would go thru the "proper" channels of dept of consecration but too many things started to fall out of existence so anything found now is sent to oz for investigation. There are heaps of places that are "tapu" also, especially in the waipoua where there are constructions of stone. Underwater Heritage Group has got their website up and running. They may have started documenting this sort of info there also. IMHO too many places are tapu because then we would discover the truth as not told to us .... but we know that ay  |

I always plug http://www.redicecreations.com/ when I can because these two young Swede brothers are inspiring with how much info they spread on their website.
And what do we have here?

A great listen, Mr Doutre is a humble rational kiwi that's a pleasure to listen to. It shows there are some humans amongst the sheeple.
The other thing which is so obvious to those who have even lightly dabbled in life outside the mainstream, there are always agendas, and a lie gets around the world before truth can get it's boots on.
In other words, millions of years pass, the earth changes, people come and go and modern archeologists have to contend with 'anomalies' which ALWAYS get filed - first in the too hard basket then into the waste basket.

I had linked this here ages ago but the website was pulled and the files deleted so I re-uploaded them all to scribd. I found this article a few years ago published in one of those free magazines on an Air NZ flight so I pulled the article out and scanned it.
You will have to read it link by link and you will need to view it in full screen mode to see it properly. I have posted the links to all 13 pages of the article at openUReyes. Enjoy 8)

Fantastic work smash! A thoroughly enjoyable read and Mr Hilliam is a real kiwi bloke and an inspiration.
Unlike the two academics who wrote emails at the end of the article - who 'put us right' :D

| Heh I haven't read that article for years but flicked thru it last night, I didn't realise how many typo's were in it. No wonder it was stuffed into a free magazine that nearly nobody reads  All that aside indeed it is an excellent article that deserves to be read by many people. |
