That's really interesting! I'd love to hear what the theories are on this little occurrence :wink: I've seen similar things but those shots of yours are quite impressive!
Btw, did anyone happen to see the amazing cloud display rolling in from the west north of Bethells and over Waitakere way yesterday evening around 6pm? Man I was wishing I had a decent camera for that one! The light wasn't fantastic and the scale of the thing was quite large so didn't think it was worth me trying to photograph but wow, an amazing set of clouds that again were something I've never really seen before. Too hard to explain in words but amazing, undulating, swirling grey stormy stuff that looked like it could unleash a twister or something!
