Greetings ...
Early hours this morning / last night ... watched weather clouds approaching from west - the moon almost full ... noticed oil-slick colours in some clouds as they swirled around and passed before the moon. Not all clouds had same colouring ... I have included a couple of images I took, but they do not do the colours justice (par for the course),
PS We had some fine hot days ... no persistent trails that I have seen ...seeing as there is a front on way up SI , I sort of expected some activity ... |

This is the quietest year for trails since I began watching 6 years ago.
We had a bit happen last weekend, I might post some pics later but nothing to bad. It is usually in full swing by now.
I have seen those coloured clouds before. |

Definitely been a good deal of strange cloud phenomena during the last 6 months or more though!!!
A close friend of mine who lives out near the west coast (of Auckland) also just felt an earth tremor recently that wasn't announced anywhere. Their house sits on poles and they pick up even the slightest tremors - she felt the last one that was announced down country slightly when we were told we might feel "very slight remnants" of it. I've asked them to try and correllate any tremors they feel with any other phenomena like trails or cloud slick colours just to be sure hehe  |

Btw ruapaka, those photos are great!
I often look out at the night sky especially when the moon's fairly full and we've had a "weird" cloud day. During the holidays we decided to see how many satellites/shooting stars we could spot one night - laying back on the ground we spotted 5 satellites and 1 shooting star in less then half an hour! Back when I used to surf up the east coast just about every week 20 years ago we'd sleep open air just behind the dunes and watch the sky before nodding off - saw a LOT of activity back then, most of which we're sure we could explain! There's a lot going on up there that's f'sure - we just don't look up there that much going about our everyday lives. |

Yes, A Butlet the trails begin ... I have been watching and taking photos - will post later tonight. The cirrus haze is forming ...
I agree Smashdracs, there has definitely been quiet times with regard to persistent trails. Yet ... I think there have been more than usual observations of cloud anomalies, such as the oil-slick colours and cloud forms - for me anyway.
Maybe a saturation point has been achieved and the atmosphere only needs maintaining ... ??? .... maybe the shift in world politics had button pushers sitting on their hands for a spell ... ??? ... maybe there was a fiscal reason, budget blow out or huge deficit and cut-backs ... ??? ... pass ....
The UN has been quiet lately ... I read an article on 'chemtrails' - (cant't remember where) - linking UN countries, being the only countries to have persistent trails. I can't remember which country was the last to join the UN - the article stated that this particular country began having persistent trails almost immediately after the official signing.
That's my lunch break over ... |
