Greetings ..
I saw some 'coloured' clouds today - took some photos, but not able to capture 'evidence'. I thought I would see some persistent trails today - not the case ... not until this evening, Just before 10pm I saw a persistent trail ... aha ... get camera ... get back outside and another northbound persistent trail being laid .... got a decent enough image and will post when approved.
During the day heard a lot of planes and either no trail or contrails were all that I observed. |

We know what you mean & it's commonplace now. What I saw yesterday in Auckland was quite a good example of that shimmering "oil slick" colour across a fairly wide area of spreadout "cloud" that appeared from the west. Alas no photos... |

Here's the photo I got last night ...
18 December 08 - 9:56pm
Lower Pelorus Valley - facing west.
Persistent trails. One in the process of being laid (northbound).
Only contrails or no trails were observed during daylight hours. |
