Kia ora
(Blurb first - prompted by Crakka's post for 4 Dec - appears happening all around this day ... images to come)
My first glimpse of the sky was just after 7:30am .... persistent trails littered the sky. I counted 4 to the west - older long segments with minimal spreading. (Same stuff Craka posted for same day in Auckland) . To the east I spotted 2 persistent trails - 1 fresh and northbound, the other older.
A lot of cloud cover for best part of the day - windy - fast moving clouds, patchy at times - openings here and there. I managed to get an image of a persistent trail in an opening.
So, I think the Marlborough area got a bit of a hammering today ...
7:47am - Lower Pelorus Valley - facing NE.
Two persistent trails early morning. Four older remnants to the west. (brightness adjusted)
12:34 - Lower Pelorus Valley - facing N.
Persistent trail - northbound. A break in the cloudy conditions giving a peep hole. How many more we couldn't see?
8:07am - Lower Pelorus Valley - facing east.
Cirrus? Fast drift eastward, maintaining shape.

Yet more evidence! Sheesh you guys see get hit hard! Actually we see a lot more of the kind of stuff in the last picture up here especially drifting in from the west - and I mean tons of it in the last 6 months. In fact from what I'm starting to see more and more all the signs are there that we quite possibly get a lot more spraying going on around Auckland than people manage to observe. I'm pretty sure if someone in Auckland was in a position to catch more evdience (enough time, good equipment, right locations, etc) then we'd see a stack of photos coming in up here too.
