| If you don't mind me asking magical1, what was the issue you were trying to receive a hearing on? |

Hi Melody
The hearing that has already taken place in front of Council, democratic services, the press and public wasn't overly exciting.... well not to everyone I guess but to me extremly important and to the other 105 people who signed my petition.
http://www.wellington.govt.nz/haveyoursay/e-petitions/ep/details/17
So I got to "have my say, ish" but at the end of the process realised that this was not the case at all. I was stopped mid flight by the Mayor, made to feel stupid in front of a room full of people I didn't know.... I could elaborate and I will if you like.
So my lovely dad (as dads do) sent the Mayor a letter telling her that the democratic process did not work for people such as me. Instead of listening Kerry got very nasty and rang me this afternoon.
I was wondering if there were any others that had encountered the abrasive Mayor in her third term. She is obviously out of touch with her peeps eh! |

Last time she ran for Mayor an irish freind of mine with anarchist leanings changed one of her campaing posters saying:
'STICK WITH KERRY'
to
'S ICK WITH KERRY'
It looked quite convincing .... |

somewhere i read that in recent events in Mexican politics, a guy who thought he should have won, is setting up a parallel government
seems to me, that's a good idea, to revitalise what appears to be a pretty tired concept, the adversarial system of representative government
let's have parallel governments at all levels, remembering that parallel lines never meet, a government that never meets would save us a lot of taxes
this model could be slipped in quietly, in backwaters like Wellington, and gradually introduced to places of greater political awareness, where people actually expect their representatives to pull their weight |

Kerry still refuses to reveal who donated to her re-election campaign.
Not a lady who appreciates openness and transparency.
She is well connected to property developers, not the least of which her own husband.
She fully supports the forced medication of our water supply (fluoride).
Built a $7000,000 golden beach more or less in front of her own house that has undoubtedly raised the value of hers and her neighbours properties at rate payer expense which muggins the rate payer was told at the time would not cost a cent more after construction. Then muggins rate payer finds out it is going to cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to shift the golden sands back as nature moved them down the beach (muggins pays of course)...
Dont get me started.....
It would be interested to find out just how much it costs muggins each year to maintain that wonderful golden beach in front of the homes of the "champagne club" though.... |

Look I think we did get you started Smashy!! hahahahaha
Its not everyday the Mayor goes you on the phone!
I had the terrible sleepless night going over and over what I could have said, what I should have said... In fact it was not unlike a meeting with a school principal.
Are you meant to tell the voters off for giving them feedback? I thought Politicians always arse licked no matter what you did. Oh yeah thats only the ones that are going to run again.... I told her that she should welcome debate and I swear she Hummmmmphhhhhed!
think she needs her hormone patches tweeked... she has waaaaaay too much testosterone.
So all your feedback has made me feel much much better.
