To my friends who enjoy a glass of wine... And those who don't.
As Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria.

In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that, if we drink 1liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichiacoli, (E. Coli) - bacteria found in feces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop.

However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.

Remember: Water = Poop, Wine = Health

Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of @$#&!!*.

i heard this rave once, i've had no corroberation, support or peer assessment for this, but it's such a damn good rave, that i'm going to repeat it as if it should be taken as gospel truth

this is a mysterious matter, and as with most of my posts, it transcends the purely aotearoa-an fenceposts, but as it deals intimately with the atmosphere, which does not end with planet earth, but continues in a more or less dispersed and diluted form, throughout the entire cosmos, it is relevant to not only nz , but even little Wellington..........

out there in the rarified reaches of intergalactic space, where there is such a near-total vacuum, that there is only one hydrogen molecule per cubic metre, the next most common molecule, ladies and gentlemen, after hydrogen, is............is.........is...drumroll.....ethyl alcohol.......dadadadummm ! ! !

We have a thirty second rule in our family... if no one questions the "fact given" within thirty seconds then "said fact" is given gospel...

I would LOVE to be able to take credit for this particular piece of "gospel" however taken that "I" believe it then it must be, it came via email this morning and tickled my fancy, tis all...
